I would like to share tips for success at SimCity. So far I have noticed the following: Don't expand too quickly; even if the indicators show extreme demand, you are better off adding just a few zones at a time. Don't spend all your money; if you don't keep a reserve fund of a few thousand you will have to cut funding for transit and police which leads to an inevitable downward spiral. Please add your strategies and tips.

I call this the "George Bush, Sr." trick.

Here's a money cheat that isn't a backdoor--just a quirk in the software. Keep your taxes at 0% until the middle of December (you have to time it carefully), raise them to 20% (before the yearly funding auto-pop-up appears), then when the yearly funding auto-pop-up DOES appear, lower it back down to 0%. Do this every year and people will flock to your city and pay 20% taxes.
