    Long time reader... First time poster...

    Like many of you, I pre-ordered my Treo 650 and received it on Nov. 23rd... I called Sprint that day with the intention of porting my previous cell phone number. The other carrier initially denied the port and then came back and said it would be completed on the 26th... this was all on the 23rd. I decided to scrap the port and just have Sprint assign me a new phone number, as I didn't want to wait until after Thanksgiving. 10 FREAKING DAYS LATER Sprint has yet to release my ESN from their computers and assign me a new number! I have called every Sprint number I can find multiple times and talked with many different representatives but no one has been able to resolve the problem.

    PalmOne is now actually sending me another unit due to Sprint's screw-up but it is not scheduled to be here until mid-to-late next week. All in all I am trying to stay enthusiastic about the Treo but it is getting harder by the day...

    Anyone have a good contact at Sprint I could call to try to speed up the resolution? I have not been offered anything for my troubles besides many thick-accented apologies, which aren't doing much for me at this point.

    sounds like you have more of a problem with sprint than the treo...

    Thank you for the numbers... I am trying the escalations number now.

    Yes, let me rephrase: My problems are with Sprint... not the Treo. I wanted to use Sprint for the flat-rate data services but the GSM model is looking more and more attractive at this point.

    As I always do when I have a real problem. Take it into a friendly Sprint PCS store....some of those reps are real a*holes

    Day 11... Several of the numbers listed above seem to no longer be in service. Such as the Corporate HQ/Executive Services/Escalations and the other listed Executive Services numbers. I am currently on hold with someone from one of the "Red Phone" numbers as I could never get past their automated system since I didn't have a valid sprint number... Thanks again Fandango, maybe now I can get some real help.

    I got a horror story of my own.
    I noticed two seperate charges on my credit card. One charge was my monthly bill.
    The 2nd was about 120.
    I called sprint and they couldn't find a record of that charge and suggested that I call my CC company and dispute.
    I do so, and the dispute comes back with documentation from sprint saying it's a valid charge.
    BUT HERE IS THE CATCH. The documentation to the charge is referencing a company, a law firm to be exact in Raliegh, NC. I live in Tallahassee. So I call my CC again, do dispute this as a fraud charge. Now I am waiting for my new account to come etc.
    We'll see how this goes.

    Day 15... Sprint still has my ESN locked in their computers. Luckily PalmOne was understanding enough to send me another unit which I received today and successfully activated. I guess the moral is there are real problems with porting numbers... or at least canceling the port.

    BTW, the replacement Treo 650 I received today has a different lens in the camera (redish color) which I have read about here. I can confirm it is definitely different than the original and that it does seem to take sharper, more colorful pictures.
