I have tried Webpro 3.5 patched too. It locks up mine as well I have to do a soft reset. Has anyone gotten it to work and if so how much free memory did you have?

3.5 Locked on my 650 too. It's a shame that they didn't just go ahead and switch to WebPro when they released the 650. The only complaint many people had with WebPro on the 600 was its speed which should be better on the 650 due to the faster processor.

Yah, I don't know what newtreouser has, but the patched WP 3.5 definitely locks up the 650. Interesting it tries to load palmone/webpro30a/ and then says "Not enough memory to load this page."

Any attempt to load any other page requires a soft reset.

    Go figure.

Hmmmm... interesting. It seems like each individual Treo, responds to apps in a different way. Maybe there are different hardware versions, and palmone is just not tellin us. Well, just got the file, so I'm going to give it a try. I'll report what happens.

Oh by the way, I e-mailed palmone support, and asked why isn't webpro compatible with the 650, and this is their response...

    "Dear Customer:

No luck here either. I just get the "page too large error" at first. Than my Treo locks up. Oh well! I really don't understand why palmone wouldn't make this compatible.

    GREAT FIND!

Do you guys think Palmone and Sprint made a deal not to make Webpro compatible with the 650 to force consumers to get Sprint Vision instead of paying on a per usuage basis?

The webpages Blazer downloads in 200 kb, Webpro does in 50 kb. Just a thought.

Webpro is definitely faster and renders webpages better. I'm currently using the 3.01a patched version and I like it a lot. There are problems with it however since it is not technically completely compatible with the Treo 650. It does not support the 5 way navigation, and some sites you cannot access completely which requires cookies to be enabled, even if it is already enabled in your Webpro setting. Webpro is also missing the ability to save pics.

How about this idea. I assume everyone wants webpro for reverse Duns. What about replicating Blazer and setting up one for reverse Duns and leaving the otherone for sprint? I haven't tried this yet but it appears that setting the proxy to allow Blazer to work outside of the sprint network is relatively easy.

If you duplicate Blazer does the second copy use the same proxy settings? Or the new ones?

And by the way, I am sick of using AvantGo as a browser in reverse DUNS. It is slow, speed tests stink compared to the way it should work. Try downloading a weather map in Express (the free map that came on the cd) using reverse DUNS for example, it zips. AvantGo stinks. We need to get a good browser going here that utilizes the reverse DUNS speed. For some reason AvantGo stinks in this mode -- numbers like 56Kbits/sec working from www.dslreports.com/mspeed are the best I can get.

FYI...Webpro 3.5 link takes you to another forum and the link in that forum doesn't work. There are other links but when I try to download the file it ends with .rar and nowhere does it say webpro.

    aznmode,

Get WinRAR and uncompress the .rar files:

    http://www.rarlab.com/

For 3.5, double clip on the links in the first post, you then get redirected, and then you are asked if you want to save a .rar file. Say yes, then uncompress the .rar file with WinRAR.

Of note, as is stated in the post, 3.5 is patched to work on the Treo 600. It freezes my Treo 650 if I try to download a webpage.

Thank you that worked. But webpro 3.5 didn't. Main thing I was concerned with was the 5 way navigation. Doesn't look like it works on 3.5 either and it crashes as everyone stated here when you try to open a site, so back to 3.0a patched.

Wow, 3.0.1a is fantastic. Looking forward to a compatible 3.5 because this browser kicks Blazer's ***. Thanks everyone!
