    Other than Pocket DVD, what can convert my DVDs to a format for MMPlayer quickly. Pocket DVD takes forever to convert.

    PocketDVD encoder can rip vids for MMplayer and it's free!

    JobMaker is another freeware app that makes the interface of VirtualDub easier to use:

    Then of course there are other options like Kinoma 3 Producer which support native mpeg:

    It should also be the most user friendly, but you can't use the mpeg functionality in the trial.

    I use Virtual Dub - it typically takes about half the time of the video itself (i.e. a one-hour clip takes about 1/2 hour to convert)
