Just spent the last hour modding my old Palm V cradle to be my new T650 cradle.

I wonder if i should see a doctor.....a head doctor.

craziness aside, it works, and will tide me over until the real 650 cradle comes out....

thanks. amazing (or maybe not!) what you can do with a dremel tool and a hot glue gun.

    Great work mate!
Do you think P1 or an aftermarket company will come up with a cradle for sale?

To bad you still need to plug the power adapter to charge phone. Otherwise looks good

It's beyond me why a cradle wasn't included. Using that cable and power assembly thing they got going is asking for trouble. Its very fragile, especially the power connector.

actually, if you read this thread -

    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=64153

you'll find that that might not even be necessary. i'm testing it out right now.

if it doesn't work, yes, it'll still major suckage to have to plug in that power cable. what i don't understand is why they had to move the detachable spot right up to the connector, rather than at the 'Y' that the 600 had near the USB connector. i mean, great - i have to have TWO cables on my desk, rather than just one.

i may yet mod the cradle further to accomodate the power cable. or not. i've got a bluetooth adapter coming, so all i really need is something to hold the T650 up while i'm at my desk. charging i can leave for overnight on the bedstand.

Plug the power cable into the back of the hotsync dongle.

Hey, excellent idea! I've got about 6 or 7 various cradles floating around here from various Palm and Handsprint units (no Dremel though ) and modifying your idea could finally give me a cradle that syncs, charges and finally allows me to use the headset jack while charging (unlike the $30 Treo 600 cradle that now collects dust).. Thanks.
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.

i don't follow. the hotsync dongle for the T650 doesn't have a spot next to the USB to plug in the power. the only place to plug it in is at the connector right at the phone.

it works for me too. it's a very slow charge, but in the long haul that's probably better for the battery anyway (less heat). very cool!
