I wonder how many new customers Sprint will get being the first with the 650, especially from Treo 600 users of other carriers. Looks like their exclusive contract (or whatever arrangement) may pay off.

Please only vote if you will likely purchase a 650 soon or with another carrier. If switching, please post from which carrier.

I already use Sprint and already ordered a 650.

does anyone know if sprint supports a trial period (aka cancel service with no penalty within 30 days)?
if the answer is yes then:

    1. get new sprint service + t650
    2. use for 29 days or less (until gsm version ships)
    3. auto forward all incoming calls from current gsm t600 to new sprint t650
    4. buy t650 gsm and cancel & return sprint service+phone.

    just a temporary patch.

Bummer, it looks like voting on the poll doesn't not bump it to the top as some boards do. Please post a message if also voting. Thanks.

I think Sprint has a 14-15 day money back, but possibly with a restocking fee. May try Palm or other dealers with better return policies.

    From the Sprint site...

    14-Day Risk Free Guarantee
If within 14 days of activation* you’re not completely satisfied with your Sprint PCS® Phone or service, Sprint will give you a full refund for the phone and the activation fee. You’ll only be charged based on your actual usage during this 14-day period.

Where's the "Not getting a 650" poll option?
  9.    #9
Because it's a poll for those who decided to get one.
  10.    #10
Not that this poll is an accurate indicator but it would be interesting if 25%+ of interested 650 buyers were non-Sprint customers intending to switch. If such the case, Sprint's tactics have paid off.

I'm tempted! But I know it will be even more difficult when I start to see all the posts about how people love their new 650's.

We have some Cingular users at work switching to Sprint for the 650. Also, Cingular Treo 600 bandwidth is up to 6 times slower than Sprint/Treo 600.

    That is, according to... dslreports.com/mspeed

Try it when you get your 650.
  15.    #15
    Sprint/T600 - 60k-100Kbits/sec
    Cingular/T600 - 35-40Kbits/sec

Looking forward to testing 650 performance.

This guy just tested with dslreports.com/mspeed on his T650.

    http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/sho...645#post464645

    With an 'average' signal...
    1. 86 kbit/sec, 2.466s latency, 20.447s d/l time
    2. 81 kbit/sec, 1.99s latency, 21.665s d/l time

Looks like no significant improvement. That is, the phone or browser do not appear to be the bottleneck.

Double is not impressive? Sprint is certainly cheaper, why would we stay with our GSM providers if service and coverage wasn't better. I have both Sprint and Cingular. Without a doubt Cingular, in my area, much better carrier, and more erliabel for data and messaging. I need reliablity.

I'm switching from Verizon provided that Sprint coverage in my area with the 650 is good. Sprint is so much cheaper for data compared to VZW and it will take VZW forever to get the 650. Of course, if the Sprint coverage sucks then the 650 will be going back. As cool as it is, it's no good to me if I can't make a call.
