    Since no one was getting back to me in the thread I decided to "e-mail" Sprint again via their online contact form that I mentioned a number of posts ago and ask them about the codes without leading them as to the answer. Check this out:

    ========================================================================
    From: Xxx
    To: ecare@cc.sprintpcs.com
    Name: Xxx Xxx
    Form: Ask A Question Learn OR Feedback and Suggestions - Learn
    Topic: Other
    Contact Number: 281-xxx-xxxx
    ========================================================================
    Question:I would like to know what if anything the following two codes
    signify to Sprint in terms of discounts:
    1) GE SUPRA VISION
    CR and 2) GESC

    There is a reseller who is claiming to be
    able to put these on one's account and I want to know/confirm
    (without leading you) as to what they are.

    Thanks.

    So...because the online form pushed one of the codes to another line they thought it was now 3 codes even though I stated 2! I just shot off an e-mail to them again asking if they are certain and I deleted the numbers ( "1)" and "2)") and the word "and" leaving only the codes in a bulleted list (using "-" as the bullet).

    I think the biggest litmus test with OTI will come in the form of the accessories. That is the only item that they are giving directly out of their own pocket...unless they drop ship those too from Sprint or some supplier and you have to wait for a credit later.

    Just curious... Are non realtors here taking advantage of this promo? Just seems like alot of realtors hang out here if the answer is no.

    Fortunately my mom still has her realtor license with caldwell banker so she qualiied for the promo.

    Supposedly they're "not checking" to see if you have your realtor license or not. That part IS shady.

    I've got my 650 in my hands right now, still curious to see if the codes show up on my account as promised.....

    i am not getting any response from people there through the general (questions@...) email, is there a differnent email i can use?

    I realize I've never posted before, but FWIW, I had excellent service from OTI Wireless, even as an existing Sprint customer. I read this message board waiting to see if anyone had any success. Ultimately, I decided to give OTI the benefit of the doubt. Yes, progress slowed down around Thanksgiving, but I think the deal they offer was boggled for re-newing Sprint customers by Sprint, not by OTI themselves. I received my phone next-day (Tues) Fedex once the cold handsets arrived at OTI. It took a couple of days to get the plan moved over, so don't fret right away. Also, be persistent with the e-mails/phone calls. They never got too upset at me

    One more testament to the legitimacy of OTI's business - Thanks for your help OTI (MJ and Will)

    Anyone ask about shared minutes plans? I saw on the 2000 minute plan on the OTI site but I don't need that many minutes... a fair and flexible shared plan offered on the Sprint site would be ideal!

    thanks, tl
  9. #229
    oh yeah, and are the plans "national" or "local?" I see no mention on the OTI site except that there is an option to add "Free and Clear America" (no roaming) for $5 per month, but given the quality of the info on the site, that is not an indicator for me.

    I just ordered today from OTI - my plan is to get the Treo 650 through them, and then pick up a "free" phone through CompUSA (for my wife) and share the minutes. CompUSA is offering a $100 gift card for phones this week.

    Well as I stated I ended up shooting an e-mail back to Sprint to see about the codes. Here's the dialogue:

    ======================================================
    It was 2 codes not 3. The 2 codes are:
    - GE SUPRA VISION CR
    - GESC
    They are for realtors and are supposedly for a $100 credit and free
    Vision for 2 years (life of contract). Are you sure that is not the
    case?

    Xxx
    ======================================================
    Dear Xxx,

    I apologize for the misinformation provided to you in our previous
    response.

    These codes are very much available. Someone from Sprint will contact
    you with the details of this code within 48 hours. In the meantime, I
    request you to send us the following details of the account in which
    these codes have been applied:

    a. The Account Holder?s PCS Phone Number; and
    b. The Account number.

    Waiting for your response.

    So, now Sprint says they are real, but only after me telling them what they are supposed to be. Oh well better than the previous silly response from them I guess.

    Anyone get accessories yet?

    They charge you an activation fee, and if you don't pay your bill, your service is cut off. Their loss is limited to your usage of the network for 30 days or whatever (which if bandwidth was plentiful, may be close to nothing).

    There is extremely little risk for a cellular phone provider, and I never submit "credit check" information.

    Although they do sometimes balk "Whaaaaaaat??? Everyone else gives it out, what's the problem!", if you sound semi-literate, they will want your business. SS# or not.

    If they don't administer Social Security benefits, or if I am not required to give it by law, they don't get the number.

    I got my first bill from Sprint

    I purchased my T650 through OTI. Today I received my first bill from Sprint. I got my $250 credit. There was a $15/month charge for PCS Vison Professional Pack but it also came with a $15 Service Credit. So basically I got PCS Vison Professional Pack for free.

    attention Realtors:
    my local MLS reports that Supra and Sprint don't have their stuff together on the new model.

    obviously the Treo 300 and 600 were sold to Realtors as additional tools and capability for our business.

    unfortunately we need to yell to get them to develop a patch!!

    join my bandwagon- guerilla attacks- polite letters and more to bring Supra back to my nifty new 650!!!

    You are lucky, my board is still using both boxes so I have to carry around both my 650 and a DKey.

    Time frame: This was all within 24 hour period. One of the individuals I spoke with was in training. At least I hope. As far as OTI's envolvement, they don't even exist. All they see is your employer (at least employer related info), discounts, and plan. You have 14 days to change your options or send the phone back. Don't forget to verify with sprint your plan and features.

    The deal is pretty sweet!!!

    Anyone know the ETA of the accessories?
    Accessories were sent out to all new customers the middle of last week.

    The only fair and flexible shared plan is 2 lines / $70 for 800 minutes. Each additional line is $10.month. Just put it in the notes at our site if you want this.
