    I just talked to a P1 sales rep about the charge on my card and it's a temp authorization.

    Yeah... shows up on my c.card account as a "pending charge" which just means a credit authorization, not an "actual charge".

    You can also provide a T300 ESN (like I did).

    Yeah - well a "credit authorization" ties up your credit line just like charge - so be careful if you'er close to your limit. That's usually a trick used by hotels during your stay to ensure they get paid - not something I'd expect from a retailer 2-3 weeks in advance of availability.
    Remember, the "P" in PDA stands for personal.
    If it works for you, it is "P"erfect.

    Actually, if you read the information on the upgrade, it doesn't actually say treo 600 or treo anything. and I quote "...when you upgrade from your existing palmOne handheld or smartphone..."

    I wonder if that's an oversight or intentional......

    Other TC members have successfully entered serial numbers for Treo300's, Zire's and Tungsten's and gotten the upgrade BT headset.

    Intentional! any palm device will do. Its a Palm incentive it has nothing to do with treo failures (that would cause a demand for free replacements. Which they can't absorb considering they didn't produce the t600)

    Anybody notice that if you go to the order status on the website it has Handspring in the title bar in your web browser? Figured P1 would make sure that word would have been buried and forgotten by now.

    Why do they tie up your funds like this for 3 weeks? That seems like bad business. Now I am completely getting jerked. Now I am $600 poorer, and I have nothing to show for it, other than an e-mail that says we will get your product to you one day.....hopefully. This makes no sense. As long as Palmone has our funds in a holding status, then the funds are not available to us. Just rude man.

    Yeah, the status page is identical to the one from last year for the treo 600. I should know, I spent nearly a month staring at that page. You would think they would design the process from scratch instead of recycling from handspring days.

    It looks to me like "Backordered" status is further along than "Order Received".

    So, it looks like the order #s are NOT sequential, because I'm order # 792602 (lower than burninggarden), and mine is still in "Order Received" status.

    i talked to a rep. they told me that the order numbers are in fact for the treo 650 and treo 600.

    also they tie up your money for 24 hours. if u want the hold removed call them up and they will remove it.

    I just got off the phone with Palm1 CSR. I had 2 orders (1 from Monday am before free headset and 1 Monday pm after headset offer) and Palm cancelled my first one!

    They did not call confirm they just sent me an email cancelling my order! What bastards! I wanted both units. Anyway here is some info he passed along after I chewed him out for canceling an order without my approval.

    1. All Treo 650 are in stock (and have been for a few days) and they are just waiting on Sprint's approval to release them. How crazy is that??!!

    2. confirmed again that order numbers though they appear sequential are NOT

    3. He claims shipping will commence once approved from Sprint

    I ordered mine Monday 2pm Order # 790849
    still Backordered

    When i ordered, the CSR told me that there are 55 people waiting behind me to talk to them. P1 has 20 CSR on Monday.
