Gee, I hadn't even thought about a prize...

Your prize is....You get a title instead of a prize. You are the official Disney expert on the "I will wait for GSM Model. Who's with me?" thread. Great job!

    (How's that?)

Let me rephrase .... Cingular's representative, Lockline, will NOT NOW give you insurance on any new PDA phone. If you got it by mistake and they replaced it for you, you did well. Others I know who "accidently" had their insurance when they swapped out phones did not fare as well. They had their insurance fees refunded but got no replacement phone.

Lockline replaced my treo600 for the $50 deductible.

    3) You are re-stating conclusions I had already drawn in my first post about MetroPCS. I have already told you MetroPCS wasn't a full blown company and that it was emerging. It's a revolution that is spreading. It's very popular here. Eventually, it will be everywhere.

    4) You spent time getting certain facts, but not all the facts. I dont believe that you think a 0.25 cents/minutes is a cool plan.

    5) I don't believe for one minute that you thought the discussion was silly or that you were bored. I think you said that because you want to feel less exposed, so as to convey, a quasi dis-interests and unwillingness to address the issue in front of our peers. You were very lengthy "off topic." That was a dead give away. You have marginalized your feelings and it comes out in your writing.

    6) If you were thinking Private Messaging -- you should have PM'd rather than waited until the end of your post, to get the last word in, then attempt to project the appearance of taking the "moral high road to protect the thread from off topic dialogue."

    7) Let's agree to disagree and move on. No harm, no foul. We are both looking forward to the Treo 650 release. That's what we are both excited about.

With the flattened corner of the sim card toward your cheek. Drag the sim card across you cheek. If it leaves a dark black line on your face it is a 64k and if it leaves no line it is 32k.

Image quality will be impressive on the 650 over the 600, the web wil at least look great!

I'm no BT headset expert. I've only got the HBH-660, I like it but it is a little quiet. I can't tell you if that is a problem with just this model or BT headsets in general. I have also had people complain of poor quality when I am on the headset, and then other have not complained...

Can anyone tell me what the battery life on their 600 is like? I think the 650 battery life will be good enough for most people. I like to travel with my charger anyway, so my device gets a lot of charge time as long as the charge lasts a reasonable amount of time (what I have come to expect from any mobile) I am happy. For serious power users, I am sure the extra battery option would come in handy. My Treo experience has left me very happy with my battery life, sometimes going several days with no charging depending on use.
    Thanks helper.

...and a USC grad, too. There's another dude with a USC avatar around these parts.

Now Vienna Channels is some outsourced demoing function for P1, no? If so, you just reminded me about warranties, since LockLine has supported the 3 or so Treo's I've had to lay to rest. Does P1/VC offer the same kind of ongoing warranty (like Cing's $2.65/month)?

Unless it changes the day they release the 650, Cingular offers no extended/replacement warranties on any PDA phone through lockline (or anyone). Don't know about the past, but they haven't since at least last October. Hopefully P1 will care for us VC folks.

Yeah, MVT is USC stu/grad? Unfortunately if there has to be one disadvantage to being a Cingular customer, is that Lockline won't cover Treo's for Cingular. I have looked for independant coverage and can't find it. Someone told me USAA (my homeowners) would cover it under some computer insurance thing but I haven't checked on it yet. Otherwise USAA said they would cover it, (but I have a $500 deductable, so that don't help). I am 4 or 5 years pda phone and knock on wood...

Thursday was the original date that some of us were told. Someone else came back later and said Wednesday the 26. My rep always said 27th - 31st.

So let's stay excited, I think Thursday is great!
  16. #1936
    Thursday,
You mean 2 more days starting tomorrow and the next day after wednesday, that 's not too far.....
    Cingular and palm one both?
  17. #1937
Yeah I always heard it was going to be the 27th for cingular and the 26th (maybe) for AT&T.
I wonder if I could use shadowmites rom customizing tool and remove the junk I don't need and add some apps that I could/will use?

Just thought I'd pass on the following (rather unhelpful) email from P1:

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting our Palmone Store Customer Service.

We regret to inform you that we do not have a precise date for the release of the TREO 650 in Europe yet. We only know it is going to happen in 2005.

    Yours sincerely,

On the other hand, Expansys support believes that March is realistic:

Speaking of Treonaughts ...... for such a "cutting edge first with the news" organization, has anyone actually READ the article under their Treo 650 photos?:

"Now, leaving these two issues aside, let's look at the positive (and there's plenty). On the T650 we'll have a ton of completely NEW stuff:

Double the memory (still to be confirmed)

A much better 1.3 megapixel camera + video recording

There's also been some debate of late as to whether the Treo 650 would indeed have a 1.3 megapixel camera and I can confirm that it does + also video recording.

On the other hand I don't yet know whether it will support EDGE as some of you have asked.

I guess they aren't "cutting edge" enough to update their website with up to date information after the REAL info has been available for over 3 months. I guess they're like a porno magazine. Who reads the articles!
