My company just recently switched to Verizon. One of our users is using a Treo 600 with Verizon's Intellisync service setup to synchronize email and contacts with Outlook. The problem is that we can't seem to turn off the notification that plays when new email arrives. I have spoken with Verizon's wireless data team, and they tell me it is impossible. I find this hard to believe. Can anyone confirm or deny this and help me understand what I need to do? This thing is keeping him up at night because of the constance influx of SPAM.

    Thanks,

Worse comes to worse, record a silent midi and use that for the sound. But I agree, you would think there would be a way to no have it alert

That sounds like a fantastic idea. However, I haven't been able to find where the new email notification sound can be changed. I must be missing something.

I'm using Outlook with Verizon's intellisync. I hope that answers your question.
