If she reads Treocentral your Treo 650 is circling the drain.

If it works for you, it is "P"erfect.

That's a good one Dstrauss. If I haven't ruptured my spleen still laughing at that one, I'll make the DC show Nov. 18. I am going to try to order/reserve ahead for my 650.

As we've all learned, the...ahem..."interesting" way the word "available" as used by Sprint/PalmOne is not necessarily the same as the word "available" used by every other English-speaking being.

When can ya go into a store and WALK OUT with one?

    That's "available" to me.

there's seldom being cynical again. i ALWAYS believe EVERYTHING big corporations tell me!!
Change is a challenge to the adventurous, an opportunity to the alert, a threat to the insecure.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what exactly is/are "business sales." I am self-employed with my own corporation...does this mean I would qualify?

Well I was standing right next to another guy asking the same rep questions as well and he said we would be able to get it from Sprint in two weeks! I for one am going to get one. I've never used a treo before but after checking it out it seems VERY user intuitive. I currently use a pda2k and I wish it had some of the features of the treo. Even though the treo doesn't have wifi I think I could deal with it. By the way, how is Sprint for service in the Bay Area? Anybody? How about their data plans? Expensive? I use alot of data and alot of minutes (2000+/mo.), not sure how much data but alot. Someone please help me out here. I use tmobile and like their service but if sprint is comparable or better I would like to know. Thanks.

The TREO 650 is for sure cool. If one has no TREO 600 and one is leaning toward buying a TREO then Go For It!

But when a Sprint/PalmOne guy says "It'll be available in N weeks" then you should make the sign of the cross and be a Doubting Thomas because "available" has never meant "WALK OUT of the store with one" but more like "might be on our web site for ordering with shipping to follow whenever we say - or don't say".

Sprint Data $15/mo unlimited....UNLESS you are using a Microsoft OS phone, then its a total of $30/mo. since you are required to purchase the more expensive "pack"

what's the speed of this sprint data?
  17. #37
Approx. 112Kbps down (like ISDN) speeds at peak performance. They haven't officially launched EV-DO yet, that will be significantly faster.

You'll find that Sprint will be the cheapest for what you want. Coverage in the Bay Area is excellent. I live in San Jose and work in Foster City - hardly a dead spot in between. I've been with Sprint since '98. Contrary to public opinion, I have no complaints with Sprint. I have four accounts with them. Try their service where you live and work. If you're not happy with the signal quality then you should go elsewhere. Good luck with the 650. I'm sticking with my 600 (one year old and still no problems) and wait for the next upgrade.

    BrainCell,
What features does the Treo 650 have that you feel are lacking in the PDA2K? I'm currently side stepping the stampede to get the 650 until the PDA2K is available on Sprint. Would you talk me out of the PDA2K? Would you talk YOU out of it?

Afraid he stepped in it this time.

Envy your trip to the roadshow. Dallas is 350 miles from here, so I'll burn up more gas or plane money getting there then I'd save on the roadshow coupon. Oh well...
