Does anyone know whether or not there will be an upgrade special from treo 600 to 650? Something like $200 off would be nice.

The implication I draw from the Roadshow discounts and the simple fact that we're now post-launch with no discount/uprgarde announcement is there won't be one.

Not a rumor, Sprint will have a $150 rebate available for 18+ month customers as confirmed by sprint themselves in meetings with them on Tuesday. Also, you get $30 they say for doing stuff online. No other promotions are planned. (Though there might be a slight discount during Q4 in the business channels they say).

The real "upgrade" truly comes from the 650 roadshow. At $349, it's $250 off retail, and $100 off sprint's upgrade. So if you can register for it - if you show up they'll check off your email and you're eligible to purchase the 650 at such a discount price.

Keep in mind - you would have to have kept your same hardware for the past 18 months with NO esn swaps to get that $150 rebate. So if you got a replacement treo for a defective one - no dice. If you switched to a different phone for a couple of days, then switched back - no dice. If someone gave you a Treo and you've had it less than 18 months - no dice.

Also, if you don't get a vision plan with your new treo - no dice.

Does the $349 discount only apply to Sprint customers? I haven't seen anything in the discussion threads that mentions whether this is a "blanket" discount or the same discount applies to GSM carriers, i.e. T-Mobile. So, GSM users really have no incentive to attend the Treo Roadshows if they are unable to take advantage of the same discount offered by Sprint, etc. -- unless they just want to see Treo 650 up close. I'd be more likely to attend the Roadshow tomorrow if I knew this in advance. BTW, Online Registration for the Long Beach, CA event has closed. You may register on site.

Im confused, is this the rebate regarding that you have to keep your phone for 18+ months? Or is this a new promotion they are "going to offer?"

This is the first I have heard of this. Are you saying that if I can get to a treo road show and "sign-up" than I can order a 650 for $349 when available?

    Thanks

Yes, that's what he is saying -- but you actually must attend the show, not just sign-up.

See the posts about the Road shows for details.

Sorry, that was a bad question. This is all over the forum.

The 650 for $349 is back at the top of my list!

That's not anything specific to Treo owners, any Sprint customer can get that here.
And for Treo600 owners it's absolutely worthless since I don't think it's possible for any of us to have had a Treo600 for 18 months as of now.

Sprint gives any customer $150 off any phone after having your current Sprint phone for 18 months. I think they view that as their loyalty discount. They dont care if you have a 600 and want to go to a 650. Its just another phone to them. But its not a bad deal really.

You are completely misinformed. 18 months of having your current phone gets you a rebate, not 18 months of being a customer. If you've been a customer for 18 months, I'd like to see you try and get those $150.
