Hmm, generic code, I wonder what that's about??? I wanted to go to the Long Beach show but can't make it today.

Which do you all think is better?
One thing that helped me decide to purchase rather than order a demo was this information in the FAQ:

Are these devices new, used or refurbished?
All our purchase devices are new. There may be some used demo devices, however they will be in good working condition. If you demo a used product, and then later want to buy the device, we will accept the used unit back from you and send you a new unit in return based on your purchase request.

I've registered for Chicago (which I think I'll be able to make this time.)

Now in the email response they promise to let you know the status of your order within 5 days .

I've said before on this board how this is kind of like the T600 discount code last time (but they pretty much let anyone use that.) I think they'd be stupid to restrict it, but that's prolly just wishful thinking.

I'm not super-impressed with Palm's orginazational abilities, so I'd be surprised if they got their stuff together in the five days. But I guarantee there will be a lot of people on this board letting you know what happens.

I think it will take longer for them to reply regarding the status of the 650 orders vs. 600's.
Ok...so now for the 64bit question....is the 50% discount code on the coupon the same on ALL coupons or does each coupon have it's own unique code?
After all someone else on here said they used a code like "treocita" from the San Fran show. That sounds pretty generic to me!

Maybe they all work. SF show was "treoctia." TechX NY show was "mobiletreo," which worked for me when I ordered at Treo 650 a couple of days ago.

At the Long Beach show today, they made it VERY clear that only those in attendance would qualify for the coupon deal - cross referenced against your registered e-mail (i registered at the show this AM). The Long Beach coupon code was different from the others. Some threads already state that their orders are being rejected due to the fact that they were not in attendance. That's why I went today - and my order is in!!

I went to the Long Beach show this morning ordered this afternoon, order #210...

So it seems like there's over 200 orders now... I wonder how many of those will be kicked back because the people won't match up the attendance records? I wonder too how many people ordered Sprint vs. ATT/Cingular... I opted for the latter...

Yes, I thought it was wierd, but I figure it's because this is an informal, temporary site, just like the carrier "vienna channels"....

I was able to go to one of my credit card's website and get it to issue a "virtual number" which is only good for one charge, has a limit that you specify, and you can put an expiration date on it : )

tks I am in Orlando.. so I can't attend any roadshows.. but if anyone of you have no use for CDMA version and would be willing to pass me a coupon code, I would greatly appreciate it..

i attended the afternoon long beach event. very informative. initially, i didn't really think the "improvements" in the 650 would really be worth upgrading from the 600 within 1 year. but seeing some of the developers there show off their products on that screen (4 times the resolution) makes the 650 SO MUCH MORE USABLE for screen intensive work... text, etc. it really feels professional, now. i provide IT consulting and development services for small companies and the 650 seems like a platform that i can actually put into production for their mobile staff.

So bottom line is that if we missed the trade show we are out of luck on this deal? There has to be some way that us die-hard Treo folk on here can get in on this if we couldn't get to a trade show. Or not?

There might be other offers in the future, but these coupons are good only until 11/30 and if you didn't go, you can't use the coupon anyway.

    My recent experience:
I placed an order for a Cingular 600 (need GSM) with my amex card on Tuesday after the SF morning road show. I never received a confirmation email. Since then, I wrote an email asking to change my order to a (recently added) Cingular 650. The reply said to make a new order and that Amex would not be accepted as payment.

I'm looking forward to hearing what the reply is.

    Good Luck!
