Every other Treo has been launched on Amazon at about half price, after rebates. I got my 300 this way, just had to sign up as a new user (with a new cell phone number too - aack!) and a two year service agreement. Sprint's direct "upgrade path" to the 600 was way more expensive, like $100 off retail.

I wonder if I'll be able to migrate my old Sprint number to the new 650 after I buy it. Hmmm.

Why do new users always get preferential treatment? Does Sprint think we're stupid? I understand the deal to Sprint by having me "loyal" for two years, but I'm willing to sign up for two more years for a good price on the phone - why make it such a hassle?
