PocketTunes is the best mp3 player most would agree...

    MegaClock
    Bubbles
    Vexed

    Suck Meter (very Funny)

Also, where do you all get your software? I need a few good places. I know about Plam Gear, but where else?

    1. eReader from ereader.com

    2. AvantGo from avantgo.com

    3. Backgammon from standalone.com

    4. Scrabble

    5. Docs To Go--lets me sync WORD docs to my desktop and work on my PDA without losing changes. Makes that PDA one step closer to a laptop replacement, and also lets you open WORD attachments when received by email

    6. JOT

    7. Real Player MP3 player

    8. Card Explorer II --lets you turn your PDA card into a hard drive. Makes managing your SD card easy

    9. FileZ--for "on PDA" file management. Freeware. Basically, as if it were Windows Explorer for the Palm.

    10. Right Back up--back up your palm to a SD card from standalone.com
So your Palm battery fails and wipes your memory while you're on vacation. No problem!

I use those most of all! Can't live without them!

There are a bunch I find very helpful for specific purposes to essential on occasion:

    BDicty--multi languages, translator dictionaries
Multimedia: SPLASH photo manager; Kinoma video
Parker in Your Palm (wine software...erobertparker.com)

    Applications:

    Chatter for email
    DateBk5 - Datebook enhancement
ZLauncher (but spend the time to configure it)
    2Day - as my start-up screen
WebViewer (much faster but worse interface than built-in Blazer)
    eReader
TideTool - tells you the tides at any given location/date/time
    pTunes Deluxe for music
SplashID (registered) - keeps passwords safe
SpashShopper (registered) - once you get your data loaded this is really handy for making grocery lists
Natara Comet - helps manage phone logs for work expenses
Infuzer - have the weather pushed into your calendar automatically
Infotreiver - links with SabreVT so travel schedules appear in your calendar automatically.

Helper Applications (amazing how little the Treo actually does on it own):
Butler - Handles alerts well and has a decent alarm clock
Phone Technician - Expands ringer functionality and controls the radio (so your phone won't ring at 3am). Also disables Alarms during calls.
KeyCaps - essential for using the keypad efficiently
NotifyMe (makes noise when SD card is put in or out)

    Utilities:
Snap - screen capture app (needs a SD card)
Uninstall Manager - get this and install it before you put anything on your device, makes testing and removing apps much better
    FileZ - file management utility
TrackerDog - despite the big brother concerns, pretty handy in keeping apps up to date

This may seem like a list of every application I have, but actually it's just my favorites and I'm too lazy to rank them. I found out about many of these on this very discussion board and am eternally grateful. And if you can't find them on Handango or Palmgear, Google 'em.

Zlauncher-to me, the best launcher/file manager
    Contacts5
    Datebk5
    Snappermail
    Backupman (a necessity)
Bluesync - to back up your SD card to your PC
    Bejeweled
    Avantgo
    Butler
    Card Export II
Directory Assistant - (looks up maps, driving directions and phone numbers and it's free)
    Uninstall
    Coconut Fern
    Great Dates
    Holidates
    Resco Viewer
    Handy Shopper
    Isilo
MMPlayer (I have pocket tunes deluxe also, but MMPlayer will play video files as well as mp3's. By the way, do a search of the forums on "DVD" and learn how to put DVDs on your Treo. It's worth it. Especially if your friends have Blackberrys.)
    PalmaSutra
Palm Bible (I read it after looking at the PalmaSutra)
    Pocketquicken
    PDA Defense
Project@Hand (great if you use Microsoft Project)
SplashID - to keep track of passwords, registration codes and such
    TreoHelper
    Megaclock
    Microquad
    Scrabble
    Hold 'Em
    Eric's Solitaire
