Predictable: PC Mall and eCost (and Mac Mall) are the same site/same company

The sprint 650 pictures are no longer posted. Can anyone send them to me for someone who showed up late to the party?

Someone stated in an earlier post on this thread that they saw no SMS icon on the PDA side of the 650. Anyone have any info on it?. I'm sure they wont remove the SMS capability, but then again.......anything is possible!!

Why the heck are the prices of these 1 GB cards plummeting so steeply?

I caution purchasers, although the info states 32x the model number does not include the 32x. Check their site and you will see two different 1gig cards. one has the 32x in the model number and one does not. There is about a $10 difference in price between these two cards.

Just checked the Lexar site, and indeed it seems that this 1GB card can not be 32x. It is missing the 32x logo, and besides that the price point of a 32x cards is WAY higher. But hey, for general PDA use I think it will serve me just fine. I am sure the read-speed will still handle MP3 and movie playback. It would be nice if an Offfice doc or Mapopolis map opens faster, but I don't do that often enough to really care. Besides, are we even sure if the databus in the Treo would fully utitlize that 32x speed?

meir is correct, if you're looking for the 32x 1GB SD card go here

    http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...8&loc=101&sp=1

I'm not sure, but with the other link I would bet you don't get the $30 rebate. Here is a link to the rebate, might want to verify for yourself.

I got the SanDisk 1GB last week. The $70 one after rebate that included a free card TV viewer. I tested it with VFS CardSpeed from Audacity and it rated as Excellent. Much faster than the 512 I had which rated as slow or 256 I had that rated as good. And both of those played MP3's fine anyhow. IMO I don't think you're going to find a slow 1 GB card - or any 1 GB card that will cause you problems on the 600.

Hold the phone...correction. Lexar's site actually does not seem to know about any difference between the two SKUs. Buy.com offers:

    10382184 (Mfg. SD1GB-231)
    10385298 (Mfg. SD1GB-32-231)

If you search for the two Mfg SKUs on Lexar's site, they both end up on the SD1GB-32-231 page. Perhaps Buy.com introduced a separate SKU themselves for the very same item, just to be able to trace regular orders versus promotion orders. Or something like that.

I called Lexar this afternoon, and was told that the SD1GB-231 that was on sale with rebate until 10/9 is NOT 32x. The SD1GB-32-231 that is currently offered with a rebate IS 32x. I am cancelling my prior order and going with the 32x version. It works out to only 9 bucks more.

I filed down my SD card so it doesn't protrude from the top of the treo 600. Does anyone know if we are going to do this with the 650? Hopefully the slot is slightly longer so we don't have to worry about this.
