Hi, can anyone send the Treo 270 Professional ringtone to me? I've just upgraded to the Tre0 600 and it does not have a Professional ringer.

I never had a Treo 270, just a couple of Treo 300s and a couple of the 600s. Have you thought of recording your own ringtone? If not, it is not difficult at all. Pocket Tunes Deluxe to play it, something like PAR by ToySoft (www.toysoft.ca) to record it (I use PAR PRO) and something like Call Filter or Call Shield to manage it. I have about 30 or so for call announcements and about 10 alarm announcements I use with Bob's Alarm. What you design/record is what you get!

The best ringer that I have found - and used on 3 telephones - is the Old_Telephone ringer.

I've attached a copy to this post. Just remove the .pdb from the end and it's an MP3.

It just sounds like the old Bell telephone ringer. It's quite loud and usually brings a smile to the face of anyone that hears it.

OK, I like the Old-Telephone. How do I get it into my 600?

I saved it with the.pdb ending and hot sync'd. Had to reboot, but it didn't come up on my ringer list in phone sound options.

    thanks for your help

save it down as a .pdb, rename it without the .pdb and it will be a .mp3 file. I believe .mp3's require Pocket Tunes to play as ringtones (I use CallFilter, so I may be inaccurate re: PocketTunes).

I tried renaming it as an MP3 but the iTunes part lost me. I'm in need of a better ringtone as well. The ones I have that came with the phone are cheesy and I'm not too into the whole "let me have the marching band play my favorite song from the radio everytime my phone rings" sound.

There is only one professional ringer, and everyone has it.

    It's called VIBRATE.

My Treo 600 vibrate is really weak (almost none).

Try the 'Loud Phone' ringtone on the Treo 600. It sounds like what you are looking for.

Surf your Treo to this page: http://www.rezonate.com/walkabout/ringers/index.html

After clicking on a ringer, follow the directions to download and install. Another way is to email it to yourself as an attachment.

My main page of Treo stuff is here: http://www.rezonate.com/walkabout/whatsonmytreo600.html

I'll do an update this week, I promise!

if it is a midi, save it on your SD card and transfer it to the ROM from there.

none of those ringers are to my taste. aren't there any modern sounding professional ringtones? not ones that sound like an old phone or something. something like a regular ringtone?

If it hasn't already been mentioned, the Treo cannot use MP3's as ringtones without the aid of a program such as LightWave or CallFilter in conjunction with PocketTunes. If you don't want to go to all of this trouble (and expense) I suggest the LoudPhone ringer, as vflopez did above.

I found a link to Treo Essentials, there are some more standard ringers there. It's on this site near the bottom.

What ringtone Manager are you using?
I've had this ringtone for a while and recently starting using CallFilter but for some reason when I've set this ringtone in the "default ring setting" and I let my phone ring until it goes to voice mail (without touching the treo) as soon as the call goes to VM the treo crashes. I really like this tone but I changed it to a different MP3 and it no longer crashes so it's something to do with this particular MP3.

Still looking for cool ringtones, not songs. I did a search for "siemens2.mid" and this page turned up. Nice selection that I'll start mining in the AM.

good luck mining the url you sent - unfortunately, I can't read the website. Is there an English version?

I was going to drop the text into Sherlock (Mac OS) for a translation. I might get lazy and just listen to the tones then download the ones I like.

Here's another site with many of the same ringers:
