    Greetings from a n00b,

According to the Swedish site mobil.se, PalmOne Sweden will have a press meeting in Stockhom on 5 October. On the schedule is a presentation of the new models to be released this fall/winter. No specific details on which models, although they mention the usual Tungsten T5 and Treo 650 rumours.

So October 5th seems the logical announcement date. How long after the announcement until we get our hands on them? What is normal for Palm - within a few weeks or immediately? Hopefully won't follow the example of the Motorola MPx...

Well, on today's press conference in Stockholm, all PalmOne did was to give a presentation of the Tungsten T5. No official word on the Treo 650, as expected.

However, the T5 on display had a new PalmOne application called AddIt. In this program the user can select which handheld (s)he is using, and the Treo 650 is one of the supported handhelds in this list. This program is supposedly available from PalmOne's web site, so this is from a reliable source.

Really nothing groundbreaking, but at least a hint in the right direction.

Ummm, what does the application do? Is it just a drop down box that does nothing?

It's basically a database of all the s/w you can buy from PalmOne -- updated via hotsync. You can buy software and it "automatically downloads to your Palm next time you hotsync.

    Yippee.

it's a bit similar to Handango's "inhand" which downloads stuff off their website for "easy" installation on the treo. Doesn't have the full range of software though so it's a bit limited at present
