    Shimon -

Sorry to bring negative news, but the green arrow disconnect only partially worked for me. At first I had 4cast set to both disconnect after refresh and disconnect upon exit. When I opened 4cast, my city was refreshed and then 4cast disconnected. As I have Chatter operating in the background at all times, after 4cast disconnected, Chatter caused the treo to reconnect (I have it set up to automatically reconnect to Vision) prior to me being able to exit out of 4cast. So I then exited out of 4cast and went to Chatter, and unfortunately the green arrows would not turn to grey.

I did a soft reset, opened Chatter, opened 4cast, refresh, disconnect, reconnect. Then I changed my settings to only disconnect upon exit. I exited from 4cast, and the green arrows would not go away. I had to soft reset to get my green-grey arrow activity to function normally.

So my conclusion is that there is some bug in 4cast that causes the data connections to stay active, even after you exit 4cast.

    Hope this helps.

I think what happened here is - "Disconnect on exit" only disconnect if 4cast was the one opening the connection, and in your scenario - 4cast opened, then closed after refresh, then CHATTER was the one opening the connection, so 4cast did not close it.

Question - if chatter is opening the connection automatically - doesnt it close it afterwards ?

Only if Chatter is set up for scheduled syncs in off line mode. Chatter needs to have the data connection on at all times, but 95% of the time you are in a dormant data connection (grey arrows).

    I still dont get it.

Say the network connection is OFF (black). You are in, say, the calendar application, and Chatter wakes things up. Now - does it return to black or gray automatically ?

And are you saying if the same thing happens while in 4cast, the arrows do not return to gray/black ?

Thanks for the update. What does the "Show both forecast and current for today" part do? I am not seeing any difference.

    Hi,

The current conditions (bitmap & text) and today's forecast are toggled on screen.

That is correct - once i use 4cast, even if 4cast disconnected the Vision data connection once it was re-established it would stay stuck in green arrow mode. In any case, I look forward to trying the new version that you posted - I will let you know how it works. Thanks again.

Shimon - I have the latest version of 4Cast (1.52 001) and tried to add three different cities not in the database manually per the instructions in the 4Cast app. After each attempt, the app attempts to save and connect to the network and the Sprint Treo 600 resets.

Does the new version disconnect all data connections after refresh - or just the connection 4cast initiates? Looks to me like it blows all connections away (meaning email apps like Chatter would be impacted).

I'm also seeing the persistant green arrow data cxn when I've refreshed (with disconnect on exit and dosconnect after refresh both checked and chatter shut down).

The most recent download did not resolve the persistent green arrow data connection. I used the 650 in the exact manner that jsgreen did, and I had the same persistent green arrow/data connection. A soft reset is the only way that I am able to terminate the data connection.

    Hi,

Can you tell me what cities are those ?

    Thanks

After further testing, I noticed that this is inconsistent. I sometimes get clean disconnects and all is well. Occasionally, however, I fall into the old "green arrow" problem. I haven't yet identified the conditions that cause the problem to occur.
