I dunno but when I saw this thread I had to laugh. Isn't it amazing how fast rumors can spread about this kind of stuff? I remember the thread about the "Treo 800" and the guy who posted the photo even admitted that he photoshopped it and said he had to do it....now some japanese site has posted it and taken it seriously...now everyone is going to wait for the treo 800!

It's similar to "pfft!" or "gah!" -- a sort of sound effect in writing. On the Internet, "meh!" is a fairly common onomatopoetic expression of distain. I'm partial to the letter F, though, thus: "Feh!"

    I prefer "D'oh!"

Onomatopoeia doesn't refer to the thing that makes the sound, it merely indicates that the written word is meant to represent a sound. If I write "Bob said 'Meh!'" you know what sound came out of Bob's mouth. ...Of course, knowing what Bob meant is another question. Personally, I think he was frustrated that Sally had proved him wrong and didn't want to admit it, so he simply went with a dismissive and noncommital "meh" to end the conversation as he turned his back on her (Bob is, after all, kind of a jerk), but you might come to your own conclusions about what Bob meant.

P.S. Maybe Bob is a goat?

It could mean all of those things, or it could be Cartman calling for his Mom on Southpark. That is probably an exact phonetical spelling of his speaking the word "mom"
