Any idea how much bandwidth it eats just keeping me logged in?
Steve, It will notify you with the notifications if you have a new IM. You can set the polling time in Misc Preferences.

In the new version, we have added the ability to come to the main app without relogging again ever. It should be available soon as our developer version soon.

Bandwidth is very minimal to keep you logged in.

Can you include in the next version the ablity to change groups and where users are located.

For example I have a group called general. I want to rename that group to Friends.
I then have a user under the group unfiled, which i want to move into the group friend.

It be useful for sorting out friends list on the go.

Also could you create a topic that lists what you plan on releasing in the next version and est time of release, if possible?

    Thnks,
    mi

ps how long will the current pricing be in effect? I ask because I still want to test the trial software, but don't want to run into a situation of the pricing only being available for a week and my trial passes that week.

    Mict,

We will make the list of features that we are working on and antipicated date of release.

Do not worry about trial getting expired. Just email us at support@mantragroup.com and we will figure out a way to extend your evaluation to test the new features.

I was under the impression that MSN Messenger would not let you be logged into MSN from 2 PCs simultaneously. If I'm logged in on PC A and go log in on PC B it Logs me out on PC A. Thus, if I log into MSN from a PC, does it automatically log me out from my Causerie MSN connection? If so, when I log out from the PC, does Causerie automatically reestablish a connection? Thanks!

    Hi,

I installed Causerie on my Treo600 a few days ago. I have unlimited data w/ Cingular and Causerie works pretty well. A few things that I would point out:

1/ After running the app in the background, my treo complains that too many applications are trying to use the connection. I cannot check my email or log-in my IM account without doing a soft-reset.

2/ The re-logging time is too long. I think that someone mentionned it before.

3/ I have a lot of names in my list. most of them are inactive at a given time, but I still have to scroll a lot to see who's there. Could you put the inactive buddies in a different tree?

That's about it for now. Besides what I said above, I like it. Good job!

For #3 you can toggle the view to see only online users. Upper right icon next to logout button toggles the views

Online also means users who are "away" or idle btw, just to clarify

Steve, It will notify you with the notifications if you have a new IM. You can set the polling time in Misc Preferences.

Maybe I didn't wait long enough? I tried turning it off, having a friend send me an IM. And it never rang/buzzed. But next time I turned it on the IM was waiting.

In the new version, we have added the ability to come to the main app without relogging again ever.

Ok. Wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. This feature would be key for my useage model. Basically I'd like to stay logged in, but still use the Treo for other functions. Then be able to fire up Causerie to send an IM or check someone's status.

If I install this on a Treo 600, and I log into say AIM or whatever all day, will I still be able to receive Phone Calls? Or do I have to log out all the time?

What you should have done is started causerie up, and then switched to another application without exiting from causerie. That is, do NOT press the big 'X' in the upper right. This should leave you logged into causerie and notification of new IM's should reach you somewhere between seconds to a minute later (dependant on how long Causerie has been spinning it's wheels waiting for incoming..)

It should be running in the background and should not affect the reception of most calls. For my treo, a GSM version, unless the treo is actively transferring data, it should be able to receive phone calls. Since Causerie only checks every now and again, the vast majority of calls get through. (somewhere over 95%?)

Yes, that works, but then try switching BACK to Causerie after running another app, say to see if a friend is online...it logs you out and back in again, all chat windows are lost (tho their history remains). This seems broken to me.

Also if the Treo screen is off it didn't vibe or ring to let me know there are new messages. Although perhaps I didn't let it sit long enough for this?

Well blow me down, didn't realize a new version was available.

Since a similar thing happened in a previous pre 1.0 beta, my guess is you need to fully get rid of all things Causerie on your phone, including any MB*** files then reinstall 1.7 to see if that clears things up. That's what fixed it the last time there were similar symptoms...

    Chick-Dance,

You do not have to delete any of the files like MB* (those were pre-beta files).

Please let us know what error do you get in 1.7 BETA when you exit? Do you have any alarm or attention managers?

BTW, you can always go back to 1.0 and registration would still work. However, we would be eager to know what the problem is in 1.7 as it doesn't happen on other devices. There is one incompatibility with 2day launcher and Shimon and we are working together on this front.

Does this beta support Sametime? I don't want to overlay my Sametime beta if it doesn't.

    Thanks!

Does Causerie connect to the actual IM services server... or does it go through some Causerie proxy? If it doesn't... would there be a way to make it connect to the actual server?
Ever wonder if those FreeIPOD / FreeMiniMac scam sites work? Well, I found out Have a look at the results:
