I'm cool with the settings to play video in mmPlayer. I want to start with Kinoma. I have access to Media Cleaner Pro 6 for Mac OS X. Does anyone have output settings to turn a MPEG4 into a '.pdb' for Kinoma 3EX to play on a Treo 600 (160 X 120)? I always get a QuickTime Export error - Invalid parameter (ID = -50) in Cleaner. If a Mac OS X user could stuff their Kinoma Movie settings for Cleaner and send me a PM; Then I would appreciate that!
    best regards;

Kinoma 3ex plays mpeg 4 files, they don't need to be .pdb
Search messages for using QT Player to convert.

Well, It couldn't play my .mP4 file. It currently 694.4 MB.
I think I know the problem! The Key frame rate is High - 24 + it's in stereo.
Sound is at 44.1 kHz/Stereo with Sample size at 16 bits Uncompressed when I check it in QT Pro. Any suggestions for export to play in the 600?

For HandBrake users; what are you using for settings?
    Thanks!

It seems like there are a few options stated above.
Which are you using? Is MMplayer better than Kinoma?

If you have Kinoma then use the 600 settings. it will resize to 160 square and reduce bitrate, etc so it can play on Treo.

There's now TCMP player which is free. Supports MP4 files among others.
You still want to do a resize in HandBrake or other app to reduce the size.
I go with mono and keep the rate on audio somewhat low as well to keep sizes down and to avoid problems playing back.

house of flying daggers, 1h58m43s file:

    320x128
    File format: mp4
    Codec: AVC/H.264/AAC audio
    Framerate (fps): 15
    Encoder: x264
    Average bitrate (kbps): 260
    Language: Chinese (AC3) 5ch
    Subtitle: English
    Sample rate: 22050
    Bitrate (kbps): 40
    2-pass

produced a 167.5mb file, which is a perfect size.

i haven't tested it on the treo yet, but i'm sure it'll work and it gave a really nice-sized file. i may increase the audio sample rate to 44100, though...i'll play around with it to optimize the settings. i'm trying to get about a 200mb file.

This thread would be very helpful to me but most of the links above are no longer working. Can someone update this thread?

I am using Core Media Player to play video on the treo but I do not have a good method to encode/compress the video on Mac OSX

    Thx
