First apologies for my lack of technical expertise...

I am an Orange customer who is about to upgrade my Sony Ericssson T610 for a Treo 600. I have a simple question: Can the Treo 600 handle IMAP email?

I have a .Mac account and need to be able to view this on the move.

Does the standard software on the phone support IMAP or do I have to get hold of additional thrid party software? (If so, what is recommended? How much is it?)

I guess I could view my .mac account through html browsing on the phone, but would prefer not to.

    Thanks for your help...

There are a few Palm programs that support IMAP. You will have to pay for them though....

Snappermail 2.0 (using this now and it's great)
VersaMail 2.5 + (have used and it's also quite good)
Chatter ? (have not used but I hear good things)
Agendus Mail (have not used or heard much about it)

Hope this helps. I have been using IMAP on the Treo for 4 or 5 months now.

Chatter is the way to go. Its $25 one time fee, supports real-time push email. You should check it out, there is a 30 day trial period.

    Great thanks for the info.

One final question, what is the best software to view PDFs on the Treo 600?

I have used the Adobe Reader for Palm. It's not bad. But everything has to get converted through a desktop APP. There is no native support for PDF files.
