What do the right- and left-pointing green arrows that appear over the wireless signal bars signify? It seems that I can't get wireless data service when they're gray rather than green, and yet they're frequently gray, even when there are 5 bars of wireless signal.

If your on a CDMA version, the arrows mean you have a Vision (data connection).
Gray mean connected and you can still get a call as well when they are gray. Green means there is data is currently being transfered and you can't recieve a call while the data is being transfered.

grey bars also mean, you are still being clocked for minutes so if you don't have the unlimited data plan, be prepared for cell bill shock!.

CDMA or GSM? This is not Wireless Web (CDMA Sprint), so you should not be charged minuites, it's a data connection and your billed for data. Therefore, if it's grey, there's no data being transfered.I'll have to look into this a little more.
