Can anyone suggest an app to make SMS pop-ups more generic alerts rather than displaying the message in the pop-up?

Go to sms->menu->options->preferences and check the box that says Privacy Mode.

Sounded good, but I dont have that check box option. I am using a Sprint version if it makes a difference.

This option came with the newest firmware for Sprint. Have you upgraded?

    My SMS version is 1.0
    How do I update that?

Should have been in the firmware. Did you maybe install the "hacked" version that allows longer messages? If so, try deleting that.

    No hacked version here.
I will try the 1.20 updater again tonight. Thanks

I think the app is called "texter". You could use filez to see if there is a copy in RAM, if so delete it and you would then be using the copy in ROM (the one you want). Good Luck!
