    How are people getting on with this - it works fine for me - but a couple of people have found it totally non-functional.

    I'm wondering if this is a gsm / cdma thing - please let me know.

    Sorry but you know my experience. 1.71 I reset my phone 4 times and the ringerer kept playing. I had to warm reset to delete it. Might be cdma problem. I'll be happy to be your test victim though (especially since I already bought it.

    [edit - moved debug discussion to seperate thread]

    Ok Folks,

    this version of phone technician works fine from me (it more or less has from the start) - so I guess there are network problems causing differences.

    I need a few debuggers to tell me if my basic event interperetation is working. Please do the following - and be prepared for crashes!

    1) delete any trace of existing phone technician copies
    2) reset
    3) install debugPhone Technician 0.72 and Debug
    4) enable funky ringer or screen off functionality

    see what messages you get in various call scenarios.

    if it works to plan - you will get blank screens after messages (even during a call). Everything should still be working - just carry on as if the screen was live - or swithc into an app like the calendar and back to the phone app to get a refresh

    Let me know what you get.

    This setup should detect the following scenarios:

    case incomingStart:
    SendDebugMessage("Incoming call started");
    break;

    case outgoingStart:
    SendDebugMessage("Outgoing call started");
    break;

    case outgoingAnswered:
    SendDebugMessage("Outgoing Answered");
    break;

    case incomingAnswered:
    SendDebugMessage("Incoming Answered");
    break;

    case endByMe:
    SendDebugMessage("Call ended by me");
    break;

    case endByThem:
    SendDebugMessage("Call ended by them");
    break;

    case endFailed:
    SendDebugMessage("Call failed");
    break;

    Thanks in advance

    1. Tested funky ringer and had same issue, Ringer cannot be stopped
    a. I reset phone
    b. debug info "outgoing answered"
    c. acknowledged debug and phone reset
    d. repeat "c" above

    2. warm reset, deleted app to get out of loop

    3. reinstalled

    4. debug info came up again

    5. repeat 2

    6. deleted "debug" whoops forgot it before

    7. reinstalled debug and PT

    8. repeat 4

    9. repeat 2 and 6

    I have no expertise in this but it seems to me that nothing will work until we can get the ringer under control. It just won't stop. If you have more suggestions for how to test please let me know. I am more than willing. However bedtime draws near.

    thanks!
