I was wondering what the best place to get Severe Weather Alerts delivered to your Treo was?

Also...What is the best place for radar images that people have found? Any good places for animated maps?

    Thanks,
    Keith

try www.accuweather.com. It doesn't have alerts or animation but it's a nice, concise weather site for mobile devices and it does have radar and satellite imagery.

I agree. Also for radar and satellite, what you can do is open the mobile site on your desktop and enter the zip for your location. Then open the radar/satellite page and right click on the radar/satellite image. If you now enter the url of the image directly to your bookmarks on blazer, you can directly view the radar/satellite image of your area!! Pretty neat imo..

Also, for alerts, try msn or yahoo alerts. I get weather alerts from msn all the time...

    I use radar images from:
    http://www.wunderground.com

You can even find out your exact lat/long and put that in the link for pinpoint radar:
    http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi...&showstorms=20

Let me know if you need help with this.

BTW, the radar looks great on the T600.

Click on the second link, the one below:

    http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi...&showstorms=20

It'll open into a new page and you'll be able to edit the lat/lon settings.

Slight change in topic, but is there a standalone program (as in not something as complex and memory consuming as AvantGo) which can be scheduled to download local weather (at say 5am and 4pm) every day?

It'd be nice if it could grab top 5 current AP headlines and stories at the same time too. I'm thinking of something like MyYahoo but offline....

Maybe I'm setting requirements which get myself back into an AvantGo solution. I haven't used it for several months, but configuring AvantGo for offline was a pain when I tried it and I don't remember why.

    Yes, you are...

You need to change it in the link: (you'd change the lat and lon to your coordinates.

Thanks for the link to the weather underground website and maps. It turns out that their member services are exactly what I wanted and for $5 per year that beats everyone else out of the water. If it all works as advertised I can get maps (animated and not) and severe weather alerts sent to my treo.

    Thanks!
