Shimon - registered 2day last night after a brief trial. Thank you for being so responsive, professional and insightful into what makes a good app tick.

Question: I've downloaded your skinmaker on shsh and have tried to make a few skins/backgrounds for 2day but the app is not making the file correctly. Upon running your skin software, the file extension is saved as *.pd~ and is not recognized by my system and is not associated with any program. (I've also noticed that there is another file created whenever I run your software and attempt to convert a bmp called "2d_skin.rcp"). When I change the "~" to a "b" the system seems to associate the file with Palm but it will not sync and seems to indicate 0KB of file size (??). Deleted your software and then reinstalled and same problem. Tried different bmp files also. The bmp file I'm starting with is 467kb. I'm operating in Windows 98 (ironic that I have the worlds best handheld while using a dinosaur for a desktop). Can you help?

Shimon - In conjuction with 2day, I'm working with SmartInput (smart-palm.com) because I love their:

1). single interface for adding to-do's, calendar items or notes
2). their "fast text input" feature that saves me quite a bit of time
    3). I can sound an alert/reminder for to-do's
    4). supports icons
5). I got it on sale for like $7 bucks on Palmgear recently.

Seems to work great with 2day but the icons will not transpose to 2day. In another thread you indicated that while 2day does not have icons within the app, it should accommodate icons of other apps. The icons for SmartInput (which accept DateBK and Agendus icons) appear in the notes section of an entry in 2day as jumbled characters/numbers. I searched through the 2day preferences but couldn't locate a setting for this. Can you help?

Apparently I don't have any work to do today and have decided to flood our friend Shimon with troubleshooting and enhancement requests. Sorry Shimon.

I often forward my incoming mobile-phone calls (SprintPCS phone) to my home number when I'm home. I do this manually through the T600's phone app (Menu>Options>PhonePreferences). Upon selecting a number for the calls to be forwarded to and clicking OK, there is a blue arrow icon adjacent to the signal strength indicator that appears. This is a valuable icon for when I decide to leave the office or home and need to change the forwarding status back again. I am also contemplating the FastForward software and would find a forwarding icon useful under that circumstance whereas I'd be using the forwarding feature much more often then. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this. Let me know if there is any further info I can get for you whereas I know you don't yet have a T600 you can tinker with.

Ok. I just noticed another bug (not a big deal but I know Shimon is a perfectionist). I have selected for my first line the owner info, card info, memory and battery. I have nothing for the second line selected. When I move down from the first line to the following line (the first line of my appointments), the card icon and percentage remain at that next line (while the rest of that first line info properly disappears) and cover part of it up. It goes away when I move to the second item down in my appointments.

    Shimon,

Fantastic tool. Love it. One more capability will make it perfect.

I have lots of meetings scheduled as conference calls where you have to dial a number then enter a passcode for the meeting. I love being able to dial the phone number from the details of the meeting, but, as it stands now, I have to memorize the passcode/extra digits and flip back and forth between 2Day and the phone dialpad.

I would love to be able to dial the passcode from 2Day as DTMF digits. Right now, those extra digits are underlined as "dialable" but they initiate a new call instead of going in as DTMF tones. My ideal implementation would have two capabilities.

    a) The ability to type a string of digits with a delimiter which would indicate the "extra digits" to be sent when the extra digits button on the phone pad is pressed. (for example 800-555-1234#1,1,999999 -- the # sign would tell the phone app to wait until I press the "extra digits" button and the "," would insert a pause). I would use this when I personally set up a meeting on my calendar.

    b) I would dial a number from the details page as I currently can. I would then manually enter the control digits to enter a meeting (1,1 in the example above) and then flip back to 2day from the phone app and still be on the details page. I could then select the meeting number, press the space bar to get the menu, and select "SEND DTMF" so that the meeting numbers gets sent. I would use this in the situations (most of the time) where a meeting gets on my calendar from someone else and they wouldn't abide by the formatting listed above.

Thanks again for making this tool available. I hope you consider adding this capability in a later release.

You sound like me with lots of conference calls all day long.

TAKEphONE and TkPhOS5hk can help (I don't know if you must have the former installed -- I do). If you have your number like this, 800-555-1212 x111111, you can mark the entire number and press the phone button. The additional numbers will be dialed when you press the continue button.

I also have TreoSelecText to help with selecting the digits but it still requires me to "open" the entry, go to the note section in the Datebook entry (where the telephone number resides), and mark the numbers. You can't mark the entry from within 2day!

In addition, I'd like to see is the ability to select additional delimiters:

    800-555-1212 PC:111111
    800-555-1212 Passcode:111111
    800-555-1212/111111
    800-555-1212 pc 111111

or any non-numeric string after the 10 digits and before a numeric string.

    Hi,

2day does not REPLACE agendus - it will not allow you to CHANGE colors/icons/categories - it will only display those.
It will also not handle deleting/completing REPEATING to dos, etc.

    Hi,

2day support two other programs - Datebook5 and Agendus.
Every other program "hides" the icons/categories,etc. in another way, so I cant follow all.

I will check this application, and if it's easy enough - I will add it (or some of it).

    Hi,

As mentioned by Beryl - if you have TAKEphONE installed, you can use 'x' to do this.

Heheheh. So, does someone who knows what he needs for the code have it for him to implement? I'm surprised that someone else who maybe uses the external battery more than I do hasn't noticed this before (this was the first time I'd used it in months).

I remain stunned that you have been able to create this without having a device. How is that even possible? Impressive to say the least!

I don't know if anyone else has reported this one so far, using build 52 when I return to 2day (most often after my device has had the screen switched off) the media card icon from the 1st line is copied on top of the date in the top left corner.
Another one (but this my be an RFE rather than a bug) is the first status line doesn't scroll so unless I'm looking at the start of today I can't see it, it also means that it isn't displayed when I return to today if I scrolled down before I left.

Seems it is not in the right dimensions - bitmaps should be 320 or 160 pixels wide.

I use the utility so that I can use pictures from my computer. When I use images directly off the treo it does not fill the screen like it does with the utility. ... or then again maybe I'm not doing something correctly.
When I transfer images to the treo I resize them to 160x160.

Any advice? or does this need an update to the utility?

As always, keep up the excellent work!!!!
