2day is great!!!!! I know it's supposed to be a simple skin for the built in databases....but I think it's as good as Agendus or Datebook5....doesn't lack much!!!!

I realize that I can always call it a meeting, but I'd rather keeping it consistent in with the traditional Datebook categories.
    Hi,

Would you explain the difference ?
How would you like it to be displayed ?
What calendar app are you using ?

    Thanks !

    Hi all,

    Just posted a new version - 1.31 (030):

    - Email: Support for Biz Conn (Seven).
    - New meeting/todo creation: Allow setting 'Private' flag.
    - New meeting/todo creation: Added "Edit" menu for cut & paste.
    - Display: Allow hiding internal icons on 'To do' list.
    - Display: Datebook5 - allow using icons by resourse ID ("Display->More" prefs).
    - Display: Allow hiding "+1" on future event.
    - General: Preferences file is now backed up on HotSync.
    - Fixed handling of long URLs.

Shimon-as you know, Chatter is (another) must-have app for many of us, and with the upcoming release this week, will be giving Snapper a run for its money. Have you made any progress in finding a 'hook' to integrate with 2day?
  7. #387
I'd be interestd in 2day integration with Chatter as well. Nice work so far!

    Hi,

I guess you mean the 'hook' to start an outgoing email ?
Cause an icon for incoming should be working...

Can I get the coming release now - for testing ?

    Shimon

Just found a problem! I've installed Beyond Contacts, ver 3.005(270). Evidently the program uses their own calendar database so any changes made in Outlook or on the Treo 600 is NOT reflected in 2Day!

Can this be fixed? I need Beyond Contacts for the additional fields in has in their contacts Database

    Hi,

    You scared me...

The "problem" is known - as you correctly mentioned, Beyond Contacts use their own database/s, hence non of my products (or any other Address-book/calendar enhancements) can work with them.

Maybe in the future I will develop an "outlook" version of my products.

    Shimon -

Just registered 2Day - love the app. Here's a suggestion... Put the abillity to put alarms into ToDos. I know both DateBk5 & Agendus both allow you to do this, and it would save an extra step for me. Is it possible? Tnx.

very good idea! sometimes I create a meeting when it's really a todo because I need the alarm. good call.

I also have both Beyond Contacts 3.005 and 2Day installed, and I have derived a partial solution, which is to change the Hotsync preference for Outlook Calendar from "Do Nothing" (as BC 3.005 instructs) to "Synchronize the Files." After doing this, I have found that my Outlook calendar entries will show up on the main 2Day screen. There is some inconsistency regarding trying to open the appt. from 2Day as opposed to BC, but it's better than nothing. This also does not prevent the Outlook appts. (including notes, reminders etc.) from being entered into BC, so you don't lose anything in that regard.

Would it be possible to add a "shadow" option to the text? Something like that would make it 100 times easier to read the text if you have a "busy" background. It can be difficult to make the color of the font stand out agains the background.

Also... it seems that the skin converter reduces the resoultion of the picture. If I take the exact same picture and use it as a treo image vs created skin I can notice a huge difference. Would it be possible to fix that... or am I just going crazy? (could be either)

As one who has given many suggestions ... one who also thinks this program has become a great tool ... and one who has paid and registered it ... I will say that now I think people are asking too much and/or are driving the focus away from the original purpose of the program. In so doing I think that this could only hinder the steady process we have seen so far ... and perhaps stray enough that we are left with a mediocre product that does a little-bit of everything but not any one particular thing great.

It is my understanding that this program is suppose to be a "TODAY" Screen. A Launching Point for the many facets/software-services of daily organization and communication that the phone provides.

There is already a good built-in calendar. There is already great calendar alternatives, like Agendus and or Datebk. There is already a lot of other things that people are asking for this program to do ... and I too gave suggestions. But looking back ... I think we should all focus future suggestions on making this a Great "Today" screen program as opposed to requesting it to be the end-all of end-alls in calendar-contact-management.

    Make Since?

    Keep up the Good Work!

    Hi,

I agree with you completely: This is a "Today" app, and not a datebook replacement, with one exception - I decided to add a quick "New meeting/todo" feature, since this is an action most people do on every day bases.

As such, this will stay a SIMPLE action - create a new item with description, date, time, alarm - the more "advanced" stuff (category, repeat, icons...) will stay out of 2day, and can indeed be handled within datebook/agendus/etc.

    Shimon,

Speaking of this exact subject - it would actually be easier if your program had an option to launch the choosen "helper" app to create the ToDo/Meeting. This way the user could enter all their fields available in Agendus or DateBK5...

    Thanks,

    Mark
