I didn't use this feature for very long. DB6 1ar7 keep creating duplicates. I went back to the default tasks app.

ohhh ok, well something had to change in datebk in which now the task alarms from 2day dont carry over...

i looked again at the default tasks application.. i remember now how terrible those alarm midi sounds are... lol...

can u upload your file.. maybe u have some better ones... then the crappy 1970 sounds that come on the treo 755... like 5 terrible choices
  5. #2945
i had 2day point to the default tasks application like u use above and set an alarm... i see the alarm active (alarm icon) in the native tasks application but it is not sounding either

if i set a task directly within datebk6 or default tasks application, it works fine

    Changes in version 1.51 (092)

New meeting/task/reminder: save new item by default

u think this change in the most recent beta is causing my issue ?

does anyone have the beta before for me to test?

    version 1.51 (091)

the last release was build 53.. i dont want to go back that far

thanks for the file, i deleted 92 and reinstalled 91.. still isnt working

none of my alerts for tasks are going off, anyone else having this issue?
  8. #2948
i hard reset my treo 755

installed the latest 2day beta... 1.51 build 092

created a task with an alarm in 2day and used the native tasks
application to alert me with an alarm... all tested ok...

so 2day is sending the task alarm setting i created in 2day to the
    native tasks application...

    installed the latest datebk 6.1a,r7

now i just have 2day and datebk on device

i created a task with an alarm in 2day and set datebk to handle the
tasks created in 2day... 2day shows the alarm icon on the right hand
    side of task

in datebk6 i have datebk handles alarms checked and i have sounds
picked... i selcted under advanced to sync task alarms and
    repeats..phone then resets

after reboot i created the alarm for a task in 2day and then hit
goto... which brings me to details page of the task in datebk and
next to alarm i see "none"... why are the alarms not being
transferred over to datebk... this is driving me nutsssss....

i also tried datebk version 6.0a,s5 and same results

now i tried going back in the 2day builds to try and isolate

the latest release build 53 doesnt have option to set an alarm in tasks

i tried build 85/91/92 and the same issue follows.. the alarm setting set in 2day is not following to datebk6

does anyone have build 58 or 60? .. i think one of those builds is when the option was added to set an alarm to a task

    Hi,

I will try to contact CESD to get to the bottom of this.

BTW - did you try creating a new task with an alarm in 2day, and NOT jumping straight to DateBk6, but rather pressing "OK" and then exiting 2day and running DateBk6 ?

performing your test as we speak....

i created a task with an alarm in 2day.. pressed OK... "DID NOT PRESS GOTO"

    exited 2day....

went to my launcher and opened datebk... yes, i see the task created in datebk but there is no alarm clock icon next to item... if i go to details page.. next to alarm it says none

on my 2day screen i see the task with the alrm clock icon to the right

    Hi all,

As far as I can see - unless I am not setting somthing right - task alarms are not synced between the built-in Tasks app and DateBk6, too:

Created a task with an alarm using the built-in Tasks application, and when I launch DateBk6 - the alarm is gone.

Waiting for a reply from CESD...

    Hi all,

CESD indeed came to the rescue - he asked me to re-download

    http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/datebk6-v61a-r7.zip

And now it seems to work ok.

    Thanks.

its real close to being fixed but not yet....

the task alarms are still not going off that u create in 2day....

if u set an alarm in 2day then hit "ok"... then go back into task in 2day and hit "open" , u see the alarm time set in datebk.. which is now following over... and the alarm will sound...read below

if u set a task in 2day and hit ok.... the alarm never goes off...

if u set the alarm in 2day and either hit "goto" or "open" after u create the alarm then it will sound and u will see the popup...

it seems that u have to launch datebk to have the alarm enabled...

please guys also try for yoruself.. but this is my findings....

if i dont launch datebk then the alarm doesnt go off that i create in 2day

    developers response

    > it seems that u have to launch datebk to have the alarm enabled...

Yes, that would indeed be an issue as DateBk has to run to sync that
information into its own format. Obviously it would be nice if DateBk
supported both mechanisms simultaneously, but it was just not practical to
    do that at this time.

It will need a workaround. Earlier versions may have "worked" because DateBk
was not handling alarms from the Tasks database and it wasn't disabling them
either (so the alarm that was going off was actually coming from the
built-in tasks application and not DateBk). With V-6.1a and this addition,
DateBk now handles those alarms, but now must also squash the alarms from
the built-in Tasks application to avoid getting duplicate alarms all the
    time.

But it does raise this new issue - a task alarm set by some other
application will not be seen until DateBk is run. There are some ways to
work around this - for a start, I can put in the database scan into the
routine that runs at the end of every hotsync - that will ensure it picks up
tasks alarms set on the desktop. I can probably persuade Simon to send a
date/time broadcast after he enters a task and that will also allow this
same routine to run and that will resolve the issue with 2-day
    . It would
leave the open the issue of creating an alarm in the built-in tasks app but
never running Datebk, but that's not a likely issue - if someone is entering
tasks in the built-in Tasks app, they may well be just handling them there
in which case they don't need to display or sync them to Datebk6.

So just hang in there for a few more days and we'll get this issue resolved.

    Cheers!

Glad to hear this is being resolved. I'm glad to see some developers still out there actively working on their programs. Kudos to Shimon and Pimlico.

    Hi,

Looking ahead, my birthdays seem to be off - 1 day early - just those from March through December of this year. January and February 2008 are fine. Is this something to do with it being a leap year??

    Thanks for an awesome product!

I am getting an error that crashes my T650. 7208-600B-0100 in a dialog with a 'OK' button. I push ok and it begins an infinite reboot loop. I have to hard reset to get the Treo to boot properly again. Any thoughts?
