    It's not exactly what you're talking about, but the way I handle something like this is put the specific tasks that are associated with an "event" down in the notes field. From 2Day, it's easy to view the notes field. Click on the event, and from the next screen, scroll down on the 5-way to see the notes.

    If Shimon decides to add this I sure hope it's an option and not mandatory because I like the way it works now.

    Have you considered just making those task a meeting and just make them 15 min in duration? That would certainly put them in the order that you want.

    Or put the tasks that you want done in the morning with a higher priority than the afternoon and evening. AKA 1 for morning, 3 for afternoon, 5 for evening.

    Shimon, the only way I can think to handle this is to setup a two part day for tasks: essentially business and personal. Define business as listed prior to 5PM and personal as listed after 5 PM. Allow the user to list quick categories below to which group. Not exactly pretty or eloquent. What she really wants is floating events like Datebook has which I don't think you can do with Palm's calendar and task databases.

    But I have to agree with TurboTiger. I wouldn't want to have to use it.

    Although something that might be easy to do is to intermingle the tasks in the calendar by day. List it as follows:

    Monday
    event #1
    event #2
    task #1
    task #2
    task #4
    Tuesday
    event #1
    task #1
    task #2
    Wednesday
    event #1
    event #2
    event #3
    task #1

    That might be functional and somewhat easy to program. It wouldn't require anything strange with the databases. Essentially organize it like you do for the week view but only listed in the today screen.

    Hi,

    I will try to think of a way to do this, but honestly I cant think of a way that would not require messing with the databases formats, or using the same method DateBk6/Agendus are using (hiding stuff in the "Notes" field).

    I am not sure I want to go that way - do not plan on being yet another competitor to DateBk6 or Agendus - dont have the bandwidth for it...

    My thought was that one could pick whatever background they wanted, like you can currently, and only the bitmap for the form title would be changed. Attached are some bitmaps that would match the ones I made for TAKEphONE.

    I like the shortcuts you make available for TAKEphONE, the ones that you can launch directly into a particular screen (dial, find, etc.). I also like that you included the ability to add shortcuts from the ibar, so that these also can be launched from our default launcher (whether "Applications" or zLauncher or whatever). Is there any way you can do this same thing for "New Task," "New Meeting," and "New Reminder" in 2Day, that one could select a shortcut in our launcher, and it would take us directly to those screens? Just a thought.

    2day feature option request

    i was looking for a simple countdown application and i thought that something in 2day would be perfect.. a simple countdown timer to add a specific date and or date and time.. .like if u wanted to plug in a vacation you have planned.. on your 2day screen it would say how many days and hours until your vaca.. possible?

    Could we please get a traditional American/European/Eastern Asia work week calendar (each work day has its own full block with Saturday/Sunday being shared) like all of the other calendar programs without having to incorrectly display the calendar in every other program on the treo? AKA setting Monday to the first day of the week is not an option as I'm tired of scheduling events on the wrong day because I look at the date on the wall calendar and instinctively choice the wrong day of the week. This doesn't have to change the default view (an option to do it this way is fine). Its just getting very frustrating having to constantly switch views just to do a quick check on my Friday work schedule because there is such limited space on that partial block.

    Sorry for the rant. I just double booked myself for the second time this month because of this little issue.

    Another idea.
    It would be nice if 2Day could automatically sync once a day with an atomic clock. I quit using the network clock because it caused my Treo to constantly turn on when I roam. I update my clock daily with netclock but it requires this to be done manually. An automatic feature in 2Day would be great.

    I hope I understand your complaint - go to the system "Prefs" applications, and enter the "Formats" section - there you can change the "Week starts at" option to Monday.

    This time syncronisation code is available as part of NVBackup (it is in the preferences). NVBackup is opensource, and I guess you could use it with Alex Pruss's permission.

    I already have the code for most in 4cast, but hesitate to add it into 2day.
