Shimon, there seems to be a bug in 2day where a birthday shows up a day later than in the calender db. I celebrated someone's b-day yesterday and it's showing up today.

    I'm seeing this as well.

The latest release, 151 build 52 seems to take care of that. It shows correctly on my Sprint Treo 700p. Ben

This is with the latest release on my 650. No idea why it would show up as correct on a 700.

Edit: Ok, it gets even more bizarre. When switching between TP and 2day, it works fine, but when switching between the regular Palm OS screen and 2day, the b-day shows up.

    Hi all,

Just declared 2day 1.51 (053) as an official release.

Includes Treo 680 support, as well as many other improvements.

You can get a full featured 30 days trial at www.shsh.com/2day

Upgrade is free for existing 2day users.

    Thanks.

    Hi Shimon

Fairly new 2day user and quite liking it ... thanks.

My feature request revolves around Outlook's insistence on prefixing meeting descriptions with the word "Updated:" whenever a change is made. I'd have to say, most of my meetings have this prefix because they are often made first before a room can be found, then updated later with the room information.

The downside to this is that, as I look at the main 2day display, I mostly see the word "Updated:" over and over down the list of appointments, with fragments of the real meeting description truncated off to the right.

I was wondering if you could add an option to remove this useless prefix (from 2day's display, not from the description itself)? That way, I could see the actual meeting descriptions!

    Thanks for considering this.

    Hi,

Can you give an example of how the text looks ?
Does it have anything after the "Updated" text ?

    Hi Shimon

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, there is text after the "Updated: " prefix. Basically, if the meeting description was initially set as "Requirements Review" then, after any subsequent change to the meeting, it's description will be changed by Outlook into "Updated: Requirements Review".

Here are some cut-and-pastes from my current Outlook calendar:

    Updated: Planning Weekly
    Updated: Interview - Jeff Miller
    Updated: Team Scrum

... and so on. Very annoying, since in PDA-based tools like 2day which have to deal with limited screen real-estate, what you actually end up seeing is something like...

    Updated: Planning
    Updated: Intervie
    Updated: Team S

(the truncation is not quite this bad, but you get the idea).

I guess what I'm asking for is a text box preference which says something like:

    "Remove Prefix: ................"

in which I will enter the word "Updated: ". After I make this configuration, if any meeting description starts with the designated prefix, the prefix part is not shown in the display (so I get the original descriptions visible again!).

I'm asking for a display-only feature. I'm not expecting 2day to actually edit the meeting descriptions in the PIM database. In fact, doing so would be a bad thing since I'm generally not the "owner" of the information. The person who created the meeting request owns the appointment and only they are supposed to make changes to the appointment description. I only get to accept / decline the meeting.

Also, it is no good asking for the meeting owners not to put in the prefix since it is added automatically by Outlook and nobody will be willing to put in the manual effort to remove it each and every time a meeting change is made (which is quite often).

    Thanks again for listening!

    Cheers,
    patrick

    Hi,

I have "Letter/digits" in the Operation prefs set to Start search, but when using the alpha keys that include numbers (ERTDFGXCV on the Verizon Treo 650) the Phone dial pad opens instead of the contacts database.

For example, typing "VIC" will dial the number 9.

As a workaround, I set the General phone preferences to "typing starts contacts search". But I'd prefer that 2day go straight to the Contacts app instead of via the Phone app.

    I'm using v1.51 (build 053).

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Is it true you have 'v' set as a favourite hotkey, as well ?

Yes, I do. Is 2Day functioning as intended?

The Phone shortcuts are launched from 2Day based on a press-and-hold, like in the Phone app. But pressing "v" in 2Day proceeds to dial the Phone instead of looking up a contact.

    Thanks,
    -Bryan

    Hi,

This is a limitation of how I handle the HotKeys.
I will try to fix this.

    Thanks.

I've got 2day configured to go to its week view then two views of the built-in calendar by pressing the calendar hardware button.

My question is, if I'm looking at the week view in 2day, is there any way to go directly back to the single day view (other than cycling through the other views first)? I've looked at the menus and can't seem to find a way...

In the Operations Pref menu, for "back" at main: select "toggle week view".

Then you use the backspace key to toggle between the day and week views. This took me a while to figure out as well.

    Hi Shimon,

I use Chatopus for IM, and the Monitoring that 2day does is great.

Would it be possible for 2day to poll Chatopus (or other IM apps) for status (to determine if the app is logged into an account or not)? Maybe the IM icon could be displayed with a red "X" when not logged into an IM account, similar to the volume icon when the Treo ringer is off.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    That's a GREAT idea !

But - cant do this without cooperation of the developers.
Would you (and others) contact them ?
I will try too, but it always help when it comes from customers...
