Before purchasing the 600 for Cingular, I was wondering how Cingular charges you for web / email access and text messaging without purchasing the $40 internet plan.

WIX uses GPRS (charged by how much you upload/download).
WI uses CSD (slower, dial-up modem, charged by how many minutes you are connected).

Supposedly, if you sign up for the pay-per-use WIX, you can get the CSR to sign you up for WI for free as a backup. I just use CSD. WIth the 5000 night and weekend minutes it's great!
