Hi all... I've been playing with ring tones for a few months on my treo and got tired of surfing *LARGE* sites on my treo... so i got a domain name and put up this simple site with thousands of categorized tones that work on a treo. They're all under 64K, so they won't choke your phone.

I'm not sure if it is ok to post a link here or not, so let me know if I shouldn't do this... I've also put a list of "mobile friendly" sites on there too... including treocentral.com, of course

    http://www.treotones.com

    Thanks,

    Joe

great site, joe! I've been looking for a collection of ringtones that was easily accessible via my treo. keep up the good work. btw, do you take requests???

I think a search feature on that site would help a lot. Great set of ringtones.
Units - Unit conversion for webOS!

Sorry for this question, I'm a newby .. but how do you download and install the rigtones from the web site?

Hey, thanks for the comments... Especiall this last one. I wouldn't have thought to put instructions on the site. I'll do that... Hopefully I'll add the search feature soon too. I'll take requests... if you don't find it on there, let me know and I'll try to find it.

How was it speed wise? did the pages load quickly?

To install one of these as a ringtone, just find the one you want, click on it and click ok or yes to every question your treo asks... then it will show up in your list of available ringtones. Check the site later, i'll get some screen shots on there.

    Thanks again!

OK, I hate to answer my own question, but I found a program (FREE!) called zgrab... I got it from http://www.codejedi.com

Here's a link to the instructions:

Granted it looks like heck on a regular browser, it looks OK on my Treo.

Any other suggestions? This is way more fun than I expected!

    Thanks,

    Joe

Hi Joe. Very nice work. I appreciate it as I've been looking for Phantom of the Opera.
I have one small problem........When I select a file I indeed get the "download" page. I select "yes". Then immediately I get the "download complete" screen. If I try to "open" the file, or "save" the file, I get an error: "Error: Database: can't find (0x0207)"

Any ideas or suggestions? I've done a reset and tried it again, but to no avail.

    Thanks again,

    John

Do a search of the forums for that error message, and you should find a procedure to fix it.

    Hi,
Your sites much more Treo friendly than some others i've tried.
One suggestion (& to be truthful I'm not sure how easy it would be to include) could you add a search function?
It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer- Albert Einstein.

Nice site, but a search would be great. There are a LOT of rock songs to search through. Also: your James Bond theme is off-key. :-(
    MTT
Handspring Visor, Palm V, HS Treo 180, HS Treo 90, P1 Treo 600, P1 Treo 650, Palm Treo 700p... still hanging tough with Palm OS

This is a great site. Any chance you'll be putting up some MP3 ringtones? Like clips from songs or sounds?

    Thanks, Tim
Iím a lucky man to count on both hands
    The ones I love..

    Visor Pro -> Visor Edge -> Treo 180 -> Treo 270 -> Treo 600 -> Treo 650 -> T|T2+SE T68i -> Treo 600 -> T-Mobile MDA -> Treo 755p -> Treo 800w -> Treo 755p -> PALM PRE -> Palm Pre 2 -> HP Palm Pre 3

Good Idea on the mp3 clips... I wonder about the legalities of it?! As far as I know all the MIDI's that I have on this site are public domain. I've only collected them from sites who says that they are public domain... recorded music is different, I'm sure. Anyone have any ideas about that?

So far some of the other suggestions have been:

    Site Search
    Rating capibility
    ability to leave comments/requests
a way for users to upload their favorites

My main goal is to keep it so it is very functional on a treo or other handheld... some other or too many features may bog it down... but we'll try them all. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions!

    Thanks,
    Joe Molenski
