I have installed the new Rogers Treo 600 patch and.... MMS does not work.

I am able to get it working when I

    1) remove the leading zeros in the MMS gateway address (172.25.0.107) under connection settings in the MMS application

    2) In network in the PREFS app I specify Rogers Media as the default service. If the default service is left as Internet, I can get email and surf but no MMS. When I leave the dft service as Rogers Media I can't email or surf but I can MMS.

I have phoned Rogers data center and they are scratching their heads....

....anyone run into this problem ????

It is my understanding that MMS is currently not offered on the Rogers network. There was a sticker on the box of my Treo saying mms would not be supported yet.

It says "Coming soon" on their website, so I'm just waiting until they make it available officially.

For the time being, just send the picture as an attachment on e-mail. Not true MMS but other phones will receive it just fine.

I can confirm that this also happens on my phone. If I set to "Rogers Media", my MMS message works fine, but Blazer can't get any pabes. If I switch back to "Internet", I can surf with Blazer but MMS does not work. I guess I'll bug Rogers as well, hopefully they fix it. This is not a solution.

Picture messaging (MMS) is said by Rogers to have the settings for it in the updater. See http://www.downloads.rogers.com/wire...date_Guide.pdf

This, by the way, is Rogers' own guide to using the Updater. The PDF guide has various links, including one to a freebie game (Handspring Backgammon). Unfortunately, the links don't work in a PDF. I guess we're supposed to convert the PDF to HTML.

I just sent myself a picture message. It was easy and direct. It also works from the folder of photos you've taken. A very minor problem is that in going to type your message header, you find that you're typing symbols instead of letters. Before the mms is sent from the outbox, you have to connect to the web. Large pix will be reduced to 160 x 120 pixels, and it tells you that. More than once I had a server connection problem, so it doesn't always work. It keeps trying, however.

FWIW I have the same problem with SFR (French GSM carrier).

I remember reading somewhere that it was TrafficStat which caused the problem, preventing the network setting to be switched on the fly between internet & MMS settings. Do you happen to have TrafficStat also installed on your device? (I do, so I'm willing to believe it might be the culprit). OTOH, I remember having problems with MMS when I started using the Treo 600, and back then I didn't have TrafficStat installed, AFAIR, but it doesn't hurt to check that!

Funny you should bring up TrafficStat. During that MMS session, which I found to be successful sometimes, my Treo underwent a reset. TrafficStat was copied (!) from the card to the main device and the previous 5 days' count was reset to what I'd just sent.
