How can I use my Treo 600 as a modem for my credit card machine?

what type of credit card machine? is it hooked to a computer?

It is a standard machine, verifone tranz 460, seen in every retail store, dials out via an internal modem, to approve card. I would like to use the Treo as a modem, rather than using its built in internet access, ala PDAnet.

Don't know, but I have seen other cellphones being used as modems and think it would be available here.

I know this isn't what you're looking for - but I use PocketVerifier Pro on my Treo 600 instead of a traditional credit card terminal - www.merchantanywhere.com

One downside is that it requires it's own merchant account / fees - I know you'd prefer to use what you have in place already.

You say it has an internal modem, but does it have a serial port?
