There was an old thread on this topic, but I didn't see any particluarly good recommendations. So:

What drink recipe programs does everyone use? I'm looking for one with a good database, the ability to filter based on ingredient(s), and a nice look (very optional

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Here's a good link that might help you out re: a variety of choices.

I use tomeraider, which is a generic document reader that costs $20, along with the free Cocktail Encyclopedia from memoware. Obviously it's not worth the money just for this one document, though.

avantgo has a decent free service called "drink boy"

I use iSilo with OpenBar 2 - not sure where exactly I got it - that was a few years back when I had a palmV... supposedly over 2500 drinks sorted alphabetically numbered & a-z) and by liquor (151 rum through zima)
    210 different liquors in all

it does cost money to purchase iSilo & I think OpenBar as well, but I have used it enough that it was worth the purchase

At least it isn't just me who has experienced crashes. I did not experience that until I did the Sprint upgrade, but since I just got the Treo 600 and put a few things on it about the same time, I cannot be sure.

I find that Minibar works fine unless I invoke a "filter" in the options. Sometimes it reboots and leaves the wireless on and sometimes I must start the wireless again.

Too bad the filter option does not work...I find it a greater asset with this type of program/database.

I just installed this as well and as soon as I attempted to setup a filter my Treo crashed. I'm shooting off an email and comment on the freewarepalm.com site to the application developer and I hope everyone else that is using this does as well. I'll also to make sure to point the developer to this site/thread.

Since this seems to be a common issue, that might be a good idea.

I was about to post a new thread on this topic, but came across this thread first....

I contacted the developer, Ray Vanderborght, and thought that I would post his responce in hope that anyone remotely interested in getting Minibar to work could take a look at the code and see if anything can be done.

"Thanks for the encouragement... unfortunately I'm stuck with an aging
Palm3 device myself and I haven't been able to reproduce some of the bugs that happen on other devices. Recently I've had less time to work on Minibar so my C programming is starting to get rusty again

I'm hoping some Treo user with programming skills out there is able to track down the problem and submit the fix. I'll probably get back to working on it again in the coming months, but its hard to say at the moment. Personally I'm really amazed at the response this little app has gotten so far. Thanks for your feedback!"

    Hey BLUES,

Is the developer, Ray Vanderborght, making the source code available for one of us Treo users with programming skills out here to track down the problem and submit the fix?

    Let us know!

    Oh Yes!
That's why I posted my reply. I guess I should have given everyone the link to Minibar's website. It's over at sourceforge.net

    Official Minibar Site
Source code can be downloaded here.

I would just love it if the Treo community could get the filter search fixed. I'll even help or donate to anyone who can figure this out.

Just a minor BUMP to get this back near the top

And I'll bring the subject of Minibar up again...

Maybe someone in the development community can update Minibar so that it doesn't crash on the Treo. Maybe I should have pleaded my case in the development forum.
