    Click on the name of the movie to get this:

    There it will show you local theatres that are playing it.

    This is the best so far IMHO. Still too much clicking around...

    I want:
    Page1=title+showtimes and location
    link=picture+description

    ...but it's fast and yes, it has pictures and complete review in very little space. I like it.
    I sure do love this forum. Isn't it a great way for all of us to come together and talk about things that don't make much difference

    It's so much FUN!...

    Showtimes is fantastic. It works great! Just follow the instructions in the Readme file to set up.

    Now THIS is a nice layout! It's even an easy address to enter. If it were formatted for the Palm it would even be better. I feel certain that they will do that eventually though. This site is the bomb!

    Is anybody using Showtimes successfully on a Treo650?

    I read through all the stuff I could find on it and can't seem to get it working correctly after syncing to my Solaris box. The getdata.pl seems to work fine, the HotSync transfer seems to work fine... no errors 'till I launch Showtimes and then I get this:

    "Unsupported Data Version
    Make sure you are running the getdata script that came with this version of Showtimes."

    I tried all sorts of debugging but couldn't get it to work. The SourceForge support site has a thread about some T5 and Treo650 Windows Palm Desktop users having problems getting the *.pdb files to HotSync over in the first place.

    BTW here's the most up-to-date source I found for Showtimes:

    1. http://www.blackgate.net/downloads/
    2. http://www.zorvek.com/showtimes/
    3. http://www.kswartz.com/test/getdata.pl

    Thanks,
    ERic

    You can also send a text message (sms) to 46645 (Google) that says:

    movie: movies 01234

    where 01234 is your zip code. Google will send back SMS message(s) with movie/theatre info for your zip.

    I just saved the link for myyahoo movies as a favorite button and named it "Movies". When I click it it takes me directly to show times for my theater

    The movie bot in VeriChat works pretty well. I can easily and quicky pull up showtimes for various theatres in my local.

    IMO, there's not enough decent stuff out in the theaters for a client like this. What I would like to see is a front-end to the IMDB database.

    I love Handmark Express. It's not free,(although I just use my sprint credit) but the movie search is one of the best features of Express. You can have an icon just for the movie section in the the palm main menu, so with Butler, I just hold down the M button, and current movies or nearby theaters are displayed. I particularly find the "More Details" button useful for getting a synopsis and ratings. You can even map your way to the theater. Other useful features of Express are Reverse Phone lookup, News Headlines, and stock info. My wife likes checking the weather of different locations and getting sport scores and schedules. I know, it's embarassing that she's more into sports than me!

    I love express movies - it even gives you movie news and box office hits.
