The biggest issue I ever run into is the call waiting hangup problem. Is it possible to just make a patch to the current phone program? How hard would that be?

Let's see, I've only had my T600 for four days now and so I can only think of two issues I have encountered that I'd like to see fixed.

    1. I really, really want a company sort option in the contacts list (like I had on my Palm V).

    2. I'd like better support for dialing extensions (hard & soft pause dialing).

I'll probably encounter more stuff I'd like enhanced later...

    Hi,

TAKEphONE (www.shsh.com/products) allows you to SEARCH in the company field, too.

It also handle hard & soft pauses on ALL numbers (not only favourites)

What'd everybody think about music playing via mp3 midi or wav's while your caller is on hold. I think that would be a great feature. Especially for the business-person on the go, or the show-off by nature.

No offense, but the idea behind this thread is to correct basic shortcomings with some of the basic phone functionality of the Treo. Basic stuff, but important stuff that the Treo is definitely capable of and that should have been done from the beginning. Most people are asking for things such as a Company field display for Caller ID, sensical way of managing call waiting, and such.

Then there's people asking for insanely complicated, exotic, unique stuff that no one would expect a phone to do out of the box, and especially something a small developer such as Shimon might not be able to do at all.

It's like some of us are saying "we really need to see a contact's company in the caller ID screen, PalmOne/HS should have done this" and then someone answers "Yeah! I want free real time phone-to-phone VoIP calls with simutaneous mp3 music playing". I really hope you can see my point, like I said, no offense meant, I just would like to keep the thread realistic in hopes that Shimon or anyone else will get a clear idea of he could do to help us.

I have seen it before, but I would like to see a area code decoder for those numbers not in your phone book.

I did a search on PalmOne for Takephone and it did not appear. Is it still available and will it allow disconnecting one call at a time after holding a conference call?

Takephone: http://www.shsh.com/products. I don't think it handles conference call hangups.

I would love to be able to sort my call log records for every individual caller. For example. If I call a lady friend and she disputes the fact that I called her 2 weeks ago, I want to be able to hit a dropdown of callers...select her name from there & then see the entire call log history, times & durations, for ALL calls from her and all calls to her my phone on one convenient list.

where can I check it out at?

I've never felt the need for too much added functionality in the phone / contacts app (other than showing / sorting on different fields), but I've always wanted to simply add color and other design niceties. I've seen some programs that do that to the basic Address program, but didn't know if they'd mess up my special Treo600 phone capabilities...

I knew one day this huge phone log DB file would come in handy! This is wild. Thanx Heberman. It took the program like 5 minutes to load up all that info to my phone book!

Iambic Agendus can also do this. You highlight any name a menu of options opens up, one of the options being contact history. It really is a great feature that ought to have been standard on the Treo.

Now this Agendus program is a very "meaty" program. Im still evaluating it out. it does a lot of different functions.

Will this tell me when individual people call and leave a voicemail? is that a possible or impossible feature for the treo to pick up?

there is a program called CallFilter 1.2 that also has this kind of ability.
