    a,b,c: I will handle.

    1,2: I will handle.

3: This would require extensive testing on a real device, which I do not have !
I might have one once they get here (no time frame, though...)

4: Not sure this is possible.

5: It's a nice idea. Will check if possible, but it would require me to implement item 3, so...

    Thanks !

I want something that will give me a list of numbers within the past day/week that have called me that I haven't called back. Also I would like for it to give me location info on unknown area codes.

Another GREAT enhancement to the standard Treo phone app would be the ability to dynamicaly update the call log with the Name, etc... of newly added contact.

This feature is present on all the recent Sony Ericsson phones & I miss it a lot.

    Cheers

    Those features will be great.

It would be nice if it were possible to fix the phone conference calling problems. Once you start a conference call you are not able to talk to a caller privately or just hang up on one caller. Even my old handspring visor phone can do that.

Also it would be nice to be able to log your touchtone key presses while in a call. Like it would hit return after a certain amount of time has passed.

For instance instead of it turning out like (what it currently does):
    1123455421

    it would turn out like:
    1
    12345
    5421

Also it would be nice to be able to dial a number stored in the clipboard while in a call.

tight...that's the only reason why i havne't start using Takephone yet..because that's all i need! Better address book looking and 5-way launcher to launch some of the important appliation. I like the phonebook function in Beyond Contacts where you highlight a contact, and press right, it'll have a small pop up list of nubmers that's under that particular contacts. It's just like regular cell phone (sanyo for example).

It woudl be ncie if u can design a simpler version of TP like that

Wow this all sounds really exciting now!

    Any progress on these.

I'm a BIG fan of Caller ID enhancements.

First priority: display the company field (or preferably a user-selectable field or set of fields) for incoming calls. I REALLY REALLY need this because I'm constantly adding people to the addressbook who I don't know THAT well, but want to talk to.

Second priority: area code matching and display. So often I've gotten calls and wondered where they were from.

Basically, any additional info that can be displayed which would help me decide whether or not to take a call would be useful

Allowing to dial via a SIP/RTP interface or via the GSM/CDMA interface would be great...

    A dream indeed...

Not sure if this can be implemented on existing SmartPhones...

Just downloaded 2day, like it a lot. This installed Takephone (without asking first) so I am testing that too. So far I like it, but I did set it so a long press of the Phone hard button brings me back to the default Phone app. Sometimes you just need basic fast phone functions.

My big question/complaint: Many of the items at the top of the screen, especially the category chooser on the History page, is not selectable using the 5-way. In fact, in the history scrren, my 5-way selector tends to get stuck on the 3 buttons @ the bottom of the screen. Please tell me there is a way or a workaround, to avoid having to touch the screen?

    Hi,

    Thanks.

    Regarding the history screen:
    1. You can set it up so that UP on the first line toggles those categories.
    2. How did you get the 5-way to go to those 3 buttons ?

When I read this, I thought to myself, this doesn't seem like something that the developer of Takephone would do. I downloaded 2day and I don't find that Takephone is automatically installed? You actually have to click on the prc file clearly marked "Takephone 600" to install Takephone.

Don't get me wrong, if a developer actually did what you mentioned, I would be the first one to balk at that.

    Shimon:
Yes I found the UP setting, and now it cycles through the categories. When I go right with the 5-way, similar to most of the standard apps, the selections jumps to the 3 buttons on the bottom, but it gets stuck on them and just cycles in a loop through the 3. Hitting details once, and then left to go back immediately, puts you back in the number selection screen.

I don't thing I have any special hacks or progs that mess with the 5-way. (no butler or volume scroll or anything) so possibly you do and that is affecting yours?

My opinion would be, since up and down scroll through the lists, (everywhere in Takephone) and left brings you back to the tab selections (I like the way you select the tabs, but don't go to them until you press the center- much faster), 5-way right should scroll through all of the other screen buttons, including any bottom buttons, the categories, and the display layout button in the upper right.

When I use thing, I don't touch my stylus.

paulsjmail; I did install both .prcs in the zip file, I guess I wasn't paying attention to the fact that it was both 2day and Takephone.

    Hi,

The way it works in TAKEphONE - a right press does loop through the 3 buttons, but this should stop after you do not press anything for a timeout of 1 sec or so.

I will try to add the category & display buttons to the loop.
