Does anyone know what kind of external antenna the cdma version uses. I live in a basement and reception sucks, well except for when it roams in verizon. I was thinking of mounting an antenna on the roof and running a cable down to my treo so i can actually recieve calls and not the voice mail light 30 minutes later.

    doothedeww ~ It's not my fault . . . you asked:

Did you open the Cradle? yet?

OK on topic, but I've got to get back to work and get some sleep.

    I use the following:
    • Yagi
    • Panel
    • Corner Cube
    • Magnetic-mount 3 dB Gain
    • Desktop / Suction Window (indoor / in-vehicle)
As per usual - pics attached.

doothedeww, this is a long MF story - Later ~ Carl "ArcBody"

    doothedeww ~

[ Did you examine the cradle yet ? I want your opinion ]

Handspring does not follow industry connector convention (in some cases)

Have you removed the rubber plug "covers" yet?

Examine the OEM Handset Antenna contact method

Study the PCB Antenna "connector" circuit - let me know what you think.

Have you seen the Treo 600 dense pac internals?

Firmware v1.20 includes "CarKit v.2.0" Software

Do you have a Treo 600 schematic?

Have you experimented with an "external antenna yet"?
