Strange thing is that I've run second and third test and the VFSMark score has gone down to 250 and 235. Maybe I'll give it another shot in a couple weeks.

Who can summarise the entries that have been made. Interested in the Transcend 45X 1GB SD Card, as the price is incredible even if I have to convert to Aust dollars and pay additional $20 delivery.

1Gig is not in Australia at all, 512 is the max we can purchase over here and for more then the card mentioned above.

So which sdcard guys do we think is the best so far if speed is the prerequisite for good DVD and MP3 play.

I formatted the card before doing another VFSMark test and got a 307...It seems this card's performance can vary significantly depending upon how full it is.

In an effort to make some sense of this data (not very useful in it's current state), I made a simple database that will collect the number and generate some stats. Enter your data here:

    http://heller.ca/cgi-local/palm/cardspeed.cgi

No stats yet, but once I get some data to work with I'll add that in. Let me know if you run into any problems.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I assume it's file read% but not sure.
I have the same question for this as well.

Are the older SD card good enough for MP3 playback or should we aim for the faster the better to cope with future improvements to say voice recording and sound playback.

    Memory card question.

Palm are very specific about having the right card to use in the Treo. A diagram indicated the requirements. If you find an SD card which has some of the features but is missing some do you think it would still work. I mean it is after all still an SD card.

    http://www.exeltek.com.au/catalog/de...8997077e3c5531

The link above is to a site here in Aust where cards are very well priced. Notice the pictures of the cards to the left of screen meet the Palm requirements where the one's on the right and down the page have no cut out on the right side of the card.

Do you think they would work none the less.

Do you know much about Tekq brand.?
