I hate to report that I will no longer use my ProClip. The fit is exceptional in every way but one. The clip has rubbed off the finish on my Treo everywhere it makes contact on the phone. The top rear (by the sim door), the bottom (by the sync connector), both sides and the front (strips of chrome color next to screen). It looks really wasted. I just received a replacement treo (buzz) and I'm going to keep that one as pristine as possible (hence the decision NOT to use the ProClip).

The ratcheting type clip seen on many injection molded holsters don't seem to be available separately to attach to a blank holster. Why? I don't know. I've mentioned it to them, but the topic never went anywhere. They've never been able to find a vendor that had that sort of thing on it's own. Can't hurt to revisit, but I wouldn't bank on it. If anyone knows a vendor that makes those things separately, pass it along and maybe we can do something on it.

I think most people wear their phones/pagers on their right side. I as a lefty do that. I've never had an issue in the car. The lap belt comes across both sides, but I've never had the buckle interfere with my holster. I usually take my phone out of the holster in the car anyway(and put it in my proclip car holder...haha).

As of now this will make two holsters for the Treo. I highly doubt they're going to make a third. If the Treo 650 is any different in case design it's going to require yet another holster. I'm sure they're trying to please most people, but you can never please everyone.

Just an observation from a soon-to-be-Treo600 owner... shopping for a case. Am I misunderstanding something ? What's the disadvantage to having the antenna face [my] back if I do choose to put it on my left side ? And would a seat belt go over it regardless ?

I'm sorry to hear that about your phone. I think I remember you posting over at pdaphonehome or earlier on here. I haven't received any other complaints about this on the Treo, and I haven't received any complaints about it on the other phones (i500 & i600). Did you send a letter or email to ProClip with pics of the phone with the wear spots? I'm sure they'd do something if it's at the least refunding your complete purchase price for the holster (since you already got a replacement phone).

Anyone else having that issue? I really haven't heard hide nor hair of this type of complaint until this one. And the proclip holster have been out for awhile. I'm sure there could be pads attached if it became something of an issue on some type of grand scale.

I had that problem too. But I have a more serious problem with the ProClip. Since the bottom corners are not covered, I am constantly catching them on things and the phone pops out and falls on the floor. Yep, I know everyone else has never had this happen, but it happens to me all the time. It's popped out at least 10 times.

I went ahead and got the Seido. It seems to hold the phone more solidly, and has a bit of padding on the inside too - although now I have so many scratches from the falls it looks like it's 2 years old, and I just got it in July. Luckily, the Treo seems very well built, no problems at all from the falls except for the SD card popping out.

Just got the email. It's now Monday. If not for the holiday it would've been tomorrow.

That is good to hear! I am on my second Verizon 600 and 'recycled' my eGrips from my first 600. I am waiting to buy another set of eGrips because I don't know if the Treo will fit in the holster with the eGrips on.....any insight on this?

I think others have used it with the egrips. I think it helped with the initial awkwardness of gripping the phone and removing it from the holster. Sure it helps other times as well, but that was the impression I got.

I got mine the other day, but found that the mounting tab for the round button to clip into was glued in the wrong place! Bummer- working with TC to get replaced. I found, though, that the power button is still activated- may need some modifying still!

hmmmm....is it the way you're putting it in the holster or is it in contact with the power button while in this holster? And you are putting it in with the backside facing out, correct? Take a pic of it coming in contact with the power button.

    Hi all,

The Horizontal's are in stock. Everyone that preordered had them ship out on Friday. I should've gotten the confirmations to everyone. I also just noticed this on ProClip's site:
    http://www.proclipusa.com/media/imag...dle/968590.jpg

Thought it was pretty sweet. Don't know if me showing it is late in the game but it was new for me to see. $69.95 on their site. Is it more of a deal at $62.95(what I can sell it for). Not sure what people think.

Got one for sale on the marketplace forums... great clip, but I went with the silicone case. I have been carrying my treos in my pants pocket for 2 years, and just couldn't get used to hip carry...

Oh, but if mine is sold, Ryan is an awesome guy. I had a problem with my first clip, and he saw to it that I was able to do an advance exchange immediately. He ships very fast, and responds to emails quickly. A great guy to do business with!
<c>Searching for happiness. 33 pdas later I find the GSM Treo 600. Now Ebayers love my pdas. I love my Treo...

thanks for the kind words. I can't believe, I might be spending more time here as I consider switching from my i500 to the 650. I might have to go modify my original 600 prototype holster since I'd want my phone facing outward. Was always surprised there wasn't more clamor for the holster to have the phone face out. It seemed like I was in the minority with that thought.

WIll these work for the Sprint Treo 600 without the on button problems, OR, should I wait for the fix to come out?
  17. #97
The current selling version works with both versions of the Treo...CDMA and GSM. Sprint didn't get a special one made. It's the same one that Verizon has. And the only time design was an issue was way back when when they had a GSM to work off of for design and realized after they sold a few CDMA ones that the design was slightly different. This hasn't been an issue for many months.

The question will be how it works with a 650 and will it have to be redesigned?

When I asked Proclip about the availability of a model for the 650...they replied:

"We will developing this as soon as we get a "dummy" treo. It will most likely be available in 3-4 weeks. Please keep an eye on our web site for updates."
