    I know the obvious answer is, as much as possible. But realistically, how much memory do you really need is you aren't going to have lots of music or video, games. I guess just other "non-entertainment" items?

    If you are not going to have any music or videos, just applications and documents then 128MB should be just fine. I have a 256MB card and without any MP3s or video I can still have around 170MB free. I do carry lots of work (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project) and all my other applications including a full dictionary and a full thesaurus.

    Forgot to mention...I have a separate 32MB card for my backup. That is why I still have 170MB free without any MP3s/Video.

    Me = Nokia 5170/Palm III > Kyocera 6035 > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 755p > Treo Pro > Palm Pre

    Wife = Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 755p > Palm Centro > Palm Pixi

    I've got a 256 card, recently upgraded from 128. It makes me feel more comfortable with scheduled backups, spreadsheets, and some applications I launch from the card. The 128 card was getting me nervous when it dropped down to about 30MB free.

    If you are going to do mp3, the 512 is the least you should get. I have 2 of them and am looking to get a gig when the prices come down (havent read that other post yet).

    I've been okay with 256MB, but my card is devoted just to mp3s (which I realize is out of the scope of this thread). When I got my 256MB prices for 512MBs were around the $175 range, and I couldn't make that investment. Now that 256MB are around $40 and 512MB are $99 (at their lows), I would probably go with 2 of the 256MBs (in case I lose one or it gets destroyed, I've got another safety).

    I'm with Cash. I have a 256MB that holds everything and a 32MB exclusively as backup. I havent come across a reason that tells me I need a 512MB.........yet.

    If I got a GPS like the I.Trek with Mapopolis, I could see the maps eating up a lot of space. So far, 128 would work for me if I took away the games and MP3s but I use a 256 card for now.

    The only reason I have a 512 is because of music, video and Audible. I'm sure 128MB would be enough for running programs.

    I have 512 MB card filled with mostly medical references, apps etc. and I only have about 20 MB free! I hardly have any mp3's or multimedia files at all and am looking for a cheap 1 GB SD card inthe next few months...
