I get weird behavior in pretty much every program. Weirdly enough, in the built in SMS app and snappermail, i get occasional resets when pressing certain key combos.

I'm running the most recent driver from the website.

I'd think a product made BY handspring FOR a handspring device would work -- especially for 100 bucks!

Buyer beware... it is cumbersome enough that I keep having to use the stylus instead of the shortcut keys on the keyboard that it is hardly much of a time saver...

you suppose handspring will refund my $$$?

The only problem I've had with the keyboard is in Blazer, where it doesn't work at all. No resets at all, although I don't use snappermail. Perhaps the problem is WITH snappermail, not the keyboard.

If you'll notice, I mentioned the built in sms app does it also. I'd understand if it was just aftermarket apps, but I would expect it to work near flawlessly with the included ones with the treo since it is, afterall, their hardware. Also, it is important to notice that I get odd behavior in just about every app of some kind or another.

    Kenn,

I agree that the keyboard is at times buggy. I've had the most problems with it in Blazer. It seems that the problems are just occasional, but irritating nonetheless. One thing you might not be aware of is that Handspring doesn't make this keyboard at all. The keyboard is made by Belkin and is a member of their G700 series of portable keyboards. They make these for Sony, Palm, HP and Toshiba. Here's a link to Belkin's web site that shows some of the G700 keyboards:

    Belkin

You'll notice on the bottom of your "Handspring" Treo 600 keyboard, it has a model number of G740. I agree that for about $100 the keyboard should work flawlessly, but Belkin makes the hardware and probably wrote the software driver too, so performance is their issue not Handspring's.

Actually, Belkin buys the G700-series keyboards from Darfon Electronic of Taiwan (a/k/a Benq/Acer). The portable keyboard that PalmOne sells for the Treo 600 is the Darfon/Benq G740 (or maybe the model G740-01 or G740-001). It is not listed on Darfon's web site, but you can see from the photo that it is clearly the same keyboard:

I'd very much like to find a driver to make this keyboard work with a Treo 300. I sent a message to Benq, via their web form, 3 days ago, but so far they have not responded:

(summary: apparently newer driver versions are better)

I'm very happy with mine. It works well with the built-in mail app and with other applications. I have not used it with a browser - I only use it when I have a lot of text to type. Never had any problems so long as I remember to turn it off when not in use (so I can print, mainly, with BTPrint).

I ahve the palmOne keyboard and I can't even load it. I just select the keyboard applicaiton and the whole thing crashes. What am I supposed to do? There is nothing anywhere I can find on it in the documentation.

    Any advice.

Not knowing your setup, the only thing I can think of is to delete, soft reset, and then reinstall. Make sure the IR is turned off when you use the keyboard.
