launch pTunes from a key combination. Like if pTunes is running the 'alt + something" combo returnes you to it.

I have used the hard keys, all eight positions, and want to be able to got right to pTunes when it is playing...sort of like being able to multi-task, so that when pTunes is running and I am using another application, I don't have to go back to LauncherX to get back in...

    Is that possible to do?

Check out Button Launcher from Lexan Software. It allows you to assign up to 9 apps to each button. I've been using it for a couple of years and it works great.

Is what you want different from the built-in ptunes popup panel?

Try using Mcphling. I have Ptunes setup as one of my favorites and use left -5way-nav to popup the list view. Works great...

But how do you do this on a device without Graffiti, an App Icon or a Menu icon?

Never mind. I just realized that there's an option to assign it to one of the hard keys on the Treo 600.

I'm also a registered button launcher user but I'm presently evaluating 'Speedlauncher+' from geekware :

Its is very similar to button launcher with the added benefit of being able to launch programs directly from the SD card.
