    Hello

Setting up a new Treo 600 I notice a note in the manual (which I cannot find on line at HandSpring or in the download version of the manual) that says the Treo 600 is limited to 2,000 contacts.

This is unlike other Palm PDAs which do not have this limitation.

Can anyojne confirm what is going on?

    Thanks.

This is not good! However, My Contacts has 2140 records and it is still working fine.

I used to have 6500 contacts on my Treo 270, so I guess the Treo 600 should support 25,000 contacts if you use the built-in address book.

If you use a 3rd party address book which runs off an SD card, I guess you could get 1.1 million on a 1gb card.

However, there is a bug in the Treo 600 which means you cannot
answer a phone call that has No Caller ID if you have >1000 to 5000 contacts in the built-in address book.

You can workaround this by using a 3rd party address book that does NOT use the built-in address book like Beyond COntacts or Key Suite.

Agendus does not help as it uses the built-in address book.

I have 2700 entries, and answering No Caller ID calls works fine.

Yep, the caller ID issue is indeed true, althougg I think it has to do with the number of Phone #'s in the dbase. I have over 4000 contacts, and I can't answer any calls without caller ID. Terrible, but I just have to live with it!

BTW: this is the reply I got from the second level CS at HS:

I'm not that popular. I don't have anywhere near 2000 contacts.

Can you please describe what you mean by "not being able to answer" calls with no Caller ID?

I have 3500 or so contacts and have a problem where I get no ring at all and all of a sudden I have voice mail waiting for me. -- It drives me crazy.

Sometimes (but rarely) I get a call where I hit "answer" and nothing happens -- as if the phone is locked. I have to do a soft reset to get it back in gear.

Can you describe the problem more. I'm wondering if this is related?!
