    Hi all,
I'm a Treo 180 user thinking about an upgrade to 270 or 600.
Is it possible to move house with my old SMS messages (sent & received)?
It seems Palm Desktop software does not back-up SMS data onto my PC.
    Thanks in advance.

I moved from a 180 to a 270, then from the 270 to the 600. All SMS followed each time.

Great! There's no worries for an upgrade. Thanks for the information.

After reading your post I looked for relevant files in the backup folder and found the "SMS Messages.pbd" file. It's a shame that the Palm Desktop software does not show SMS messages to read on the PC while they are sync'ed and stored there.

I also found a software called "SMSync 1.0" to convert sms messages of the Treo into "standard mailbox format". But it's for Linux. I wish there were a similar piece of software for the XP or the Mac, because "SMS Messages.pbd" is quite difficult to read.

Yeh, I wish we could get to the SMS messages on the desktop. I receive stock updates via SMS, and they go way back to early 2001. If I could easily get to them, I'd keep them on my desktop and delete the hundreds in my SMS inbox.
