I never did find a way to extract the great, loud and varied MIDIs used in GeekSounds for alerts. The install pdb file allows them to be selected only for alerts (SMS, email, etc), not for ringers. There are some good sounds if someone could figure a way to isolate and post the individual MIDI's...

Well, when doing a search on GeekSounds for the previous thread, I found a thread with a reference to a program called iRing. It allows you to move MIDI's between the system MIDI DB and the Ringer DB, export the file and more. It did the trick.

$5 shareware, available at TuCows: http://www.pilotzone.com/palm/preview/262710.html

and for those who prefer a more normal cell phone type ringer I posted a few here: http://www.thinkaccess.net/ringtones

Thanks for the link! Can't tell you how long I have been searching for a plain-old ringer. As a trainer everytime I hear one of those ridiculously long, ornate ringers I want to throw the phone out the window. Have people forgotten how to be considerate or at least vibrate mode? (Granted, vibrate mode on the T600 is nearly usless) Hehehe...

Thanks for the tip. It works great! Some of the sounds in GeekSounds are indeed very loud and can be used as ringtones.

Thanks for the iRing tip. I was able to reuse the Ringo ringtones and the other midi tones. I am happy with my Treo 600.

I have my SkyTel pager forwarded to my Treo. Has anyone seend a loud annoying constat beeping I could use for my SMS alert for when the pages are forwarded thru?
Sometimes I need to make sure it wakes my up at 4am.

Does GeekSounds have something like this perhaps?

    Thanks,

I have never tried to use midi as a ringtone so I am not sure how to do it. I did try to hot sync but I knew that it would not work.

I need some assistance to get it to work. I do have Pocket Tunes and a SD card.

    Thanks

I would be eternally grateful if you could come with "Down, Down The Field" -- The Syracuse Fight Song!

    Any chance?
