Nice ring tones indeed. Too bad we can't get voice one's to say something like "you have a text message."

I have read the method from the link.
However, it seems troublesome since I don't have access to internet(Web nor Email).

Any way to install ringtones from SD card?

Is it that you do not have a Treo 600 to download it ??????? Do you not have access to the internet through your Treo 600?????

I am working with a couple of composers/musicians to write nice/original Treo 600 MIDI tones for a Treo optimized application currently in development.

Does anyone know the best way to simulate on a PC what sounds the Treo 600 is capable of? Otherwise, the composer will write a tune that sounds drastically different when played back on the Treo 600 than as it was written on his equipment. If he can work with the actual Treo 600 MIDI "sound library" then he'll be able to write songs within the specified range for optimal results.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!

By the way, GeekyMom, the application is tentatively named "Full Alert" and it includes functionality for voice alerts as well.

I came across this software to create your own MIDI tones:
    http://www.necrocosm.com/midimaker/index.html

    - free demo (registration is 19.95)

    from their site:

"The program will actually emulate a standard keyboard/synthesizer. Now no special hardware is necessary at all in order to create amazing sound scapes for a myriad of practical uses!

Midis can be played naturally in practically any sound software, including WinAmp and Windows Media Player. In addition, the file is very compact in size while retaining the integrity of the song being played. With Midi Maker you will have full artistic control over the range of your song, the notes and lengths, the tempo, and the hundreds of instruments to choose from. Other popular features include multiple tracks to layer your songs for simplicity, as well as hiding of specific tracks."

May I ask how do you synch MIDI files onto your Treo? Is there a directory where you place them to get synched in to the Treo? Thanks.

Using your Treo, go to Treo1.com and go to the ringtone category. Click on the ringtone you want and it will download and you'll have it to use.

Alli, thanks for your response. But, I meant to say that I already have midi files on my PC. How do I synched those PC midi files onto my Treo?

LightWav has been posted on www.toysoft.ca

Use any wave/mp3/ogg as ringtone. PocketTunes 2.1 and higher required.

There's a thread on here somewhere explaining how to get midi's onto your Treo if you don't have an internet connection. I e-mail them to myself.

LightWave isn't working yet, so that isn't an option.

Just wondering when I load the ringtones to my phone, they are never as loud as when I play them on my puter.
